Today he has, dug potatoes and carrots for 5 people out of the garden, washed peeled and chopped them (for tomorrows tea), been to visit his mother, cooked tonight's tea and washed up (I prepared it) and will walk the dog at 9 tonight

Actually, writing it down it looks ok, but he will have spent about 7 hours watching tv by the time he goes to bed tonight, that's what pisses me off

So today i, walked the dog, ate the lunch DP made, ate the lasagna DP made because i was out all afternoon visiting child unfriendly friends.
Now i am paying by doing the sunday clean before the new week starts

amazingtracy · 08/11/2015 21:00

Amazed that it takes two of you to prep for the tea tomorrow? Did all 200 people RSVP?

I showered

starlight2007 · 08/11/2015 21:00

I have read the thread..It really doesn't sound like you have done anything more...

What were you doing while he was on his bum watching TV?

What would you like him to have been doing?

fredfredgeorgejnrsnr · 08/11/2015 21:01

So if he'd watched TV standing up you'd be happy?

YABU.

I don't think I could live with you OP if you would begrudge me watching T.V

Boredofthinkingofnewnames · 08/11/2015 21:03

What did he need to do or you want him to do instead??

rosy71 · 08/11/2015 21:09

Dp drove us all to football, where we watched ds1 playing for an hour, then drove us home via some shops. He then spent the afternoon on schoolwork whilst I made lunch for me & the kids, put some washing in the tumble drier and took the kids to see my parents. When we returned, I sorted out washing whilst he watched football. He is now playing squash. I have made tea & packed lunches & hoovered & am now on here. I presume he made his own lunch & he'll make his own tea when he gets in.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 08/11/2015 21:10

What are Sundays for, if not flobbing about?

It would be different if there was a load of stuff that needed doing and you got lumbered with it all, but that doesn't sound like it's the case. I don't think there's any virtue in doing things just for the sake of not sitting still.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 08/11/2015 21:11

OP does it really matter that he's sitting on his bum when things have been done?

house is falling down around us. won't decorate, won't do any diy, sick of living in a Shit hole

OP posts:
witsender · 08/11/2015 21:14

Well, doesn't sound like you have done much more than him today...could you do some decorating?

ICanSeeForMiles · 08/11/2015 21:15

I wish my dh was able to spend more time relaxing today. However, we're decorating and he plastered the living room ceiling and 3 walls today it's now as smooth as glass Grin

However, Sunday is his only day off from work (he is a plasterer by trade) and I know he's knackered and needs a rest, and I would be more than happy for him to sit and watch telly for some downtime.

madwomanbackintheattic · 08/11/2015 21:16

And there it is.

The issue is not how much TV he has watched today. The issue is you are unhappy with the state of your house and would like to see some interest in getting it fixed up.

Five pages wasn't too bad, eh?

WhoisLucasHood · 08/11/2015 21:17

Like Teacher, my DH has been on nights so woke at 3.30pm had breakfast, made lunch and went back to work at 5.30pm. Your DH has been very productive in comparison.

pudcat · 08/11/2015 21:23

Well it took a long time for the real reason to come out. If you want him to decorate he needs to spend all his time on that instead of the other jobs. It takes a long time to prep the room and then tidy up afterwards - so just a couple of hours is not worth it. Get a decorator in. We do. It is much easier.

AnotherDame · 08/11/2015 21:23

Do you do any DIY, OP?

amazingtracy · 08/11/2015 21:23

My God Op- you are hard work! Whats stopping you from decorating?

my childs uniform still needs ironing and I still haven't changed my bedsheets

Fairenuff · 08/11/2015 21:27

It's hard work just getting a simple dialogue going with you tbh OP. I'm waiting for you to answer the question that lots of posters have asked you. What was it that you wanted him to be doing? Five pages in and we're still non the wiser.

Heathcliff27 · 08/11/2015 21:28

Well I was was at work all day today, before I went i ran the hoover round downstairs and gave the kids their breakfast.

My DH went and got some shopping in, did most of the ironing, entertained his mum, dad, aunt and uncle when they appeared for a cuppa, got the kids supper, bathed them and got school bags ready for tomorrow.

I had the easy day today and I've got the day off tomorrow when the kids will be at school and he'll be at work. I'll be doing my elderly aunts housework and taking her shopping tomorrow.

lorelei9 · 08/11/2015 21:28

can't see a problem
he likes TV, he's done everything that needs doing, let him spend some spare time watching TV.

AnotherStitchInTime · 08/11/2015 21:28

Washed up twice.

Cleared the table twice.

Looked after sick dc3 while I bathed and got older two ready for bed.

Will iron all uniform for the week in a minute.

TBF he had 11 hours sleep in the last three days looking after sick dcs while I worked nights and slept in the day. He deserved a lazier day.

lorelei9 · 08/11/2015 21:29

oh I've just seen, you want him to decorate? It took you 5 pages to share that?

how about you make a plan to do that in bits, together, so it's not such a huge chore? And is the house really that bad? I sometimes find people think jobs "need" doing when they don't unless you are after the show home look.

AlwaysHope1 · 08/11/2015 21:31

Op it took you 5 pages for that drip feed.Hmm
