Today he has, dug potatoes and carrots for 5 people out of the garden, washed peeled and chopped them (for tomorrows tea), been to visit his mother, cooked tonight's tea and washed up (I prepared it) and will walk the dog at 9 tonight

Actually, writing it down it looks ok, but he will have spent about 7 hours watching tv by the time he goes to bed tonight, that's what pisses me off

AIBU?

Ive done less than that but i'm not a DH. Do I count?

Flashbangandgone · 08/11/2015 20:23

Boyclothes

Sounds like you've got a very busy husband... If the roles were reversed we'd probably be seeing LTB posts!

Varya · 08/11/2015 20:24

Mine has done less than your DH. He has done nothing!

Oysterbabe · 08/11/2015 20:25

Is this some kind of weird stealth boast?

Bronntanasaur · 08/11/2015 20:25

My OH has...emm...got dressed, brushed his teeth, had some tea and toast (made by him) and some lunch (made by me). He tickled the kids a bit or some such tomfoolery and watched a few trailers on them. He is now having a nap which is a fairly common thing he does but also he has a cold at the moment.

We are all being fairly lazy here today. I do have to get the dinner I planned on, though.

onecurrantbun1 · 08/11/2015 20:25

Sounds like you've both had a day pottering at home. Is this a stealth boast? Because I'm jealous of your Perfect Sunday and DH who willingly chops veg

Bonkerz · 08/11/2015 20:26

Mine got out of bed at 10:30. He went to shops for me (about 35 mins). Sat on sofa. Went for a sleep about 4. Came down and took dsd home (45mins) now sat on sofa watching tv

Me? I've cleaned, swept and mopped. Done a load of washing, cooked lunch and tea for 4 kids, put away food shopping, done homework with Ds, bathed Ds and had a bath myself. Now in bed with iPad.

anyquestions1 · 08/11/2015 20:26

Is it the length of time for which the telly has been on that has really wound you up OP? I start to get wound up if the TV is on all the time. I like a bit of peace and quiet sometimes.

Candleabras · 08/11/2015 20:27

? I haven't put any kids to bed whilst watching tv?

I included my down time of reading the paper and watching strictly as I was being honest, I didn't want to sound like I hadn't sat down all day

we have to prepare Monday's tea on a Sunday as Monday's are a mad day, and my dm comes expecting a full cooked chicken roast dinner with no time to prepare

OP posts:
Enjolrass · 08/11/2015 20:27

it's probably the amount of time in front of the tv that annoys me if I'm honest.

Is he an adult?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 08/11/2015 20:28

As I read this, he's been busy as have you,

that's it.

TotalConfucius · 08/11/2015 20:30

My poor DH.
Got up, made bacon sarnies, went to b and q, cleaned the duckhouse. and pen, cleared 250sqm of 5 inch deep leaves, glued DD's shoes, did ds's homework with him, put away the ironing, prepped the dog food and fed them, co-ordinated the baths/showers/hair washes, fixed a lamp, made eleventy twenty cups of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, and is now watching Antiques Roadshow.
I let the ducks out, did the ironing and made the dinner.

sleeplessinmybedroom · 08/11/2015 20:30

Today Dp has fed and changed the baby 3 times, bathed said baby, fed the rabbits, washed up breakfast dishes, made lunch for himself and Ds, put the rabbits to bed and washed up tea dishes.

I have fed and changed the baby twice, dressed said baby, made breakfast for myself and Dp, did twenty billion loads of washing and drying, washed up after lunch, ironed school uniform, folded twenty billion loads of clean washing, fed the cat twice, packed Ds's school bag, wrote cheque for dinner money and cooked tea

AlwaysHope1 · 08/11/2015 20:32

So your dm expecting a full meal is his problem? Maybe sort that out with your dm.
You've been asked many times why him doing exactly the same amount as you annoys you but you can't give any valid reasons?

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 08/11/2015 20:32

He's done more than me.

bushtailadventures · 08/11/2015 20:33

Mine got up as I was serving lunch, ate lunch, did a bit of the washing up then played the playstation all afternoon..he managed to fit a nap in too. In all fairness, apart from lunch, I haven't done much either. It's Sunday, I don't care how much tv he watches, how little he's done, or even how many naps he takes.

Lol. YABU.

XiCi · 08/11/2015 20:35

Is this for real? It's a Sunday, let him watch some TV FFS. You sound a bit of a nightmare.

DickDewy · 08/11/2015 20:35

Mine has taken the youngest to his (away) football match where he was a linesman, picking up 2 others on the way.

After that, he went to Tesco and did all of the shopping. He has also done 2 loads of washing and drying. This afternoon/evening he has cooked a huge roast. He has just finished clearing up and loading the dishwasher and is now reclining on a sofa with a glass of wine.

I have walked the dog.

Beth2511 · 08/11/2015 20:36

My OH got up with dd at 7 until i got up at 9, went back to bed for three hours. Cared for DD whilst i worked 7 hours and since i got back has prepared me dinner, distracted DD whilst i made my dinner and he is just about to head out the door for his ten hour shift.

Wolpertinger · 08/11/2015 20:37

My DH has got up, made breakfast and lunch (sandwiches), put dishes in dishwasher, put shopping away, raked some leaves off the lawn and is now filling the dishwasher after dinner and putting the bins out. Hopefully he's also put some washing away.

I have been to work for 2 hours (am on call from home), answered a few phone calls, meal planned and done weekly shop, bought wine online, cooked and burnt dinner.

We are probs about even and your DH has been busier than both of us.

MrsMolesworth · 08/11/2015 20:37

More than I've done.

I did three wash loads, brought DH tea in bed, made a cooked breakfast for DC, bought bread and Sunday papers, changed DS2's bed and washed up after Sunday roast that DH cooked. Apart from that I went for a walk round a local park and hand fed the doves with DC, checked DS2s homework and watched fireworks lit by DH. Most of today I've been lounging on MN and FB feeling desperately lazy. It's Sunday...

Sallystyle · 08/11/2015 20:38

Today I have done nothing.

DH walked the dogs, went shopping, cooked lunch and tea. Did all the cleaning and the laundry.

So yeah, I've done less than your husband today.

It's ok, dh will have a lazy day at some point too.

girlsyearapart · 08/11/2015 20:39

My dh has walked the dog and eaten the dinner I cooked.
Watched an episode of topsy and Tim with the kids and otherwise been in bed all day.
I have made 4dc breakfast and dinner taken them out on a bike/scooter ride, taken one to a party wrapped present for party, taken all to a friends for brunch, set out tomorrow's school uniform and made packed lunch and work lunch for me.
Done two loads of washing and drying cleaned the kitchen.
Fed the dog.
Washed my hair...
Homework with big two reading with little two.
Kind of seems like a lot when you write stuff down doesn't it ?!
