Merkel is responsible, Germany should take them

Merkel has idiotically encouraged millions of illegals to risk their lives getting to Europe, and then promptly shut the door on them. Now sensible countries like Hungary are having to bear the brunt. It's the most idiotic policy I've seen for quite some while.

Germany should pay. Germany should house them. And the EU rules on free movement of people should be torn up. I hope the AfD gets a massive boost at the expense of the CDU/CSU.

I think even someone as wet as Cameron could get Hungary, Croatia, et al to agree on making Germany bear the brunt after the problems caused by hordes of illegals at their borders over the last few days. I am sure the Greeks would be more than happy to oblige too.

Broken yeah I get your point but it doesn't reallt help the situation in Croatia right now, does it? The EU's real problem is what we are going to do about (and preferably help) all these people essentially stranded between the Greek Islands (and still arriving) and various parts of central and northern Europe.

talkin I don't understand about the NI numbers. Are you saying that lots of people were issued with the same number?

I moved to the UK around the turn of the century and it took a week or two to get an NI number. I would have to look it up but It didn't have my birth date in it (I am not Polish and I don't doubt what you're saying, I'm just confused).

mollie123 · 19/09/2015 17:51

those with TN prefix were 'temporary ni number'
Until April 2001, employers sometimes allocated their employees a temporary insurance number, which followed the format "TN dd mm yy x", where 'TN' stands for temporary number and is static and x is M for male, F for female, or P for pensioner and the numbers in the midsection were the employee's date of birth.[6] In the case of a woman born on 31 December 1958, for example, the temporary NI number would have been TN 31 12 58 F. Temporary NI numbers could not be used to trace back any NI credits or personal details. The National Insurance number had to be obtained - the temporary code must not now be used.

ohmyeye
It was shambolic beyond belief.
No, nobody got the same NI number (as they added more letters of the alphabet at the end and then started processing the real ones)
but I had a client who had three NI numbers in 6 months - all of which he was entitled to work under .... all of which got allocated tax allowances for a while!

If you are an immigrant after the age of 16, your NI number will always show that
I arrived before I was 16 so have a UK NI number (but an immigrants NHS number!!)

broken
The Gulf Arabs hate the Iraqis and Syrians and Iranians more than the Europeans ever will.
Saudi is the source of Wahabi Islam ie fundamentalist veils were practically unheard of before the 70's when the House of Saud made its pact with the Wahabist devil to maintain its rule.

Ah yes that rings a distant bell, sorry, probably should have known.

The Spectator the link you posted by Pamela Geller. A quick google /Wiki search says...

Pamela Geller (born June 14, 1958)[6] is an American political activist[7] and commentator. She is known for her anti-Islamic writings, opposition to the proposed construction of an Islamic community center near the former site of the World Trade Center, and sponsorship of the "Draw the Prophet" cartoon contest in Garland, Texas. She has been described as anti-Islamic[8] and self-described as opposing political Islam.[1] She says her blogging and campaigns in the United States are against what she terms "creeping Sharia" in the country. Multiple groups have described her as Islamophobic.[1][9]

She is currently the president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative which she co-founded with Robert Spencer.[10][11] The American Freedom Defense Initiative has been designated an anti-Muslim hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[12] The British government barred Geller's entry into the UK in 2013 saying her presence would "not be conducive to the public good."[13] She and Spencer co-authored the book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America in 2010.[5]

The Huffington Post has called her "far right", as have other media sources[1] while others, such as the BBC, contrast her right-wing support for small government with her socially liberal positions.[14]

When people are using links from the likes of Geller and the Daily Mail, it is really difficult to take anything they say seriously.

Thanks for posting that Twofingers - I was going to write a comment explaining exactly who Pamela Geller is and why she is not a voice who sensible people listen to here in the USA. I don't think even Fox news gives her any airtime.

longfingernails, you are right to question this. I have posted here before on this and will probably get shot down in flames again, but refugees/illegals/migrants or whatever - there are terrorists amongst them. Can we or Europe afford to take the risk and how many people are aware of all the violence, riots and rape going on in Germany just this summer alone (since they arrived en masse). Did you know that a policeman was stabbed in Denmark this week and two shoppers were beheaded in Ikea in Stockholm in August?....by the people we are referring to.
There are so many news reports about all this and a whole lot more online but it's blatantly being kept out of MSM news. All we get is propaganda designed to get our sympathy.
There IS a bigger picture, look up Common Purpose, TTIP, New World Order just for starters.
Anyone reading this - don't mock and call me a nutter - look up all these things for yourselves. We are being kept in the dark.
By the way, did you know the German authorities are now evicting tenants and seizing property from homeowners 'using whatever force is necessary'?
The EU is a dictatorship and will be ruling us if we stay in. We should be running for the hills.
If anyone wants links to news just ask.

longfingernails · 14/03/2016 13:02

The AfD's success yesterday was entirely predictable. I can't see Merkel staying on; her political clout is ebbing away, and it's her own fault.

Even Hollande would be able to outmanoeuvre her now. The other European leaders should force Germany to keep all the illegals Merkel so irresponsibly encouraged, and Britain should get out of the whole crumbling EU edifice.

Seriously, if you were a migrant, illegal or otherwise, would you feel safe settling in Germany now?
I couldn't believe Angela Merkel could behave so irresponsibly at the time; it was so obvious what was going to happen.
