To think sleeping naked is a bit...ick?

Just started seeing someone (been friends for a long time) and last night we had our first sleep over. DTD, all good and lovely but afterwards I was dying to put my pants back on.

We ended up having a laugh about it and he admitted he's a naked sleeper, which I have never been. It's not a huge issue but it got me thinking...

Does anyone else out there find sleeping naked icky? Or am I the strange one?

Me and DH are both naked sleepers, I only wear pj's if it's icy cold and DH tends to view them as a challenge so they don't tend to stay on long and I soon warm up anywayGrin

Musicinthe00ssucks · 22/10/2016 22:37

YABU sleeping naked is amazing.

Aeroflotgirl · 22/10/2016 22:41

It is a personal choice, for me I prefer at the minimum to have pants on or it's a bit unhygienic as I don't always feel like a showe/bath at night. In the winter it's pyjamas for me, it's too cold, can't afford to have the heating on all night. I am 😵 As to why a poster thinks it's childish to wear pyjamas, and sleeping naked is a mark of adulthood, strange ideas!

HolgerDanske · 22/10/2016 23:07

Eh what? I always slept without anything on. It would never occur to me that it's 'icky'.

travellinglighter · 22/10/2016 23:14

I always sleep naked, in fact, I knew my marriage was over when my ex started to wear more and more to bed. I think the asbestos suit and the welders helmet finally finished if for me.

SquirrelPaws · 23/10/2016 06:56

I used to sleep naked but stopped after a bout of sleepwalking when I was living in a shared house. Now I feel much too exposed naked to be comfortable, even though I sleep alone unless we have visitors. I wear a nightie most of the year and shorts and vest pyjamas when it's hot. I can't wear full pyjama bottoms or my legs get too hot and twitch. DH wears shorts and t-shirt.

shrunkenhead · 23/10/2016 07:33

I think it's a new phenomena. Sleeping naked. Didn't happen in pre central heating times! It's considered "cool" and "grown up" it's on a par with carrying around cups of Starbucks/Costa Coffee everywhere you go.

shrunkenhead · 23/10/2016 07:35

I always worry if there's a fire or some kind of emergency that means you have to leave your house ASAP.

FV45 · 23/10/2016 07:49

Naked sleeper.
DS2 (age 7) sleep naked or with pants on and more often than not joins me at some point, either in the night (recently divorced and I think he needs more mummy snuggles) or just before we get out of bed.
My other son 17 won't join us until we have something on (and I won't let him in!) so natural modesty comes in time. Sleeping naked with a 7 yo is ok isn't it? We're just sleeping. No different to him seeing me naked getting out of shower etc.

THREAD FROM 2015

FurryLittleTwerp · 23/10/2016 08:16

I sleep naked, unless sharing with someone other than DH, when I wear PJs and feel trapped & strangled all night

DH wears pants or pyjama bottoms, t-shirt or casual shirt, sometimes a jumper or fleece, socks Hmm

He would have the winter duvet on all year. I barely tolerate the spring/autumn one. He is never warm enough with the summer duvet. (It's one of those 9/4.5 tog ones that pops together)

Mindtrope · 23/10/2016 08:19

I often wear fancy dress to bed. Currently I am dressed as a medieval knight and OH has an astronaut outfit on, complete with headgear.

19Hannah · 23/10/2016 08:21

Summer naked, winter - two duvets, fluffy socks, fluffy hoodie, fluffy pj bottoms, several blankets, heating on full Grin

Aeroflotgirl · 23/10/2016 08:50

furry what's wrong with your dh wanting to be clothed when sleeping, your entitled to do as you wish, just as he is entitled to sleep how he wishes.

What if there is a fire or emergency! Do Naked sleepers have some clothes to hand in case they have to make a swift exit!

MyGiddyUncle · 23/10/2016 09:09

I used to. I thought dh was very weird when we first got together as he slept naked and maintained my pants and string vest for a while.

I can't remember when it changed but he's obviously rubbed off on me over the years and i'm happy enough to sleep naked now.

BowieFan · 23/10/2016 09:45

I have slept naked in the past but I'm quite cold all the time so I sleep with at least something on. DP, DS1 and DS2 just sleep in their underwear.

Blobby10 · 23/10/2016 09:52

I used to be OK about sleeping naked but since having children I have this irrational fear that, if something happened in the night and I needed to get the kids out then I'd waste time that I should be rescuing the children just finding something to cover myself with!!! Oh and I started wearing pants (no pj bottoms) cos I was worried about climbing down a firemans ladder and showing my bum off!!

Havent shared a bed with anyone for nearly two years so wear pjs every night - dont like the naked feelling - but have never thought of it as 'icky'!!

ANOTHER ZOMBIE THREAD

With people answering posters who have long since left the thread (what with it being over a year old. What is going on MNHQ? This was resurrected by a weirdo who wanted to talk about his erection apparently (which you'll see if you look back a page and the time leap happens, followed by a deleted message presumably from said sad little perv) then a stream of people answering the original OP having not RTFT.

Is it just me that gets wound up by this - we don't walk up to a friend and reply to something they said over a year ago, the people who were part of the original conversation have moved on with their lives, what happened to reading the thread before spouting your gem of wisdom. I am clearly on my own here though, every other thread seems to be a zombie, it's like night of the living dead round here.

HolgerDanske · 23/10/2016 11:05

Oh dammit I didn't think to check this time!

Grrrr
