To think sleeping naked is a bit...ick?

Just started seeing someone (been friends for a long time) and last night we had our first sleep over. DTD, all good and lovely but afterwards I was dying to put my pants back on.

We ended up having a laugh about it and he admitted he's a naked sleeper, which I have never been. It's not a huge issue but it got me thinking...

Does anyone else out there find sleeping naked icky? Or am I the strange one?

I sleep naked, don't find anything icky about it

Only time I felt icky was when I was breastfeeding. Obviously didn't sleep naked then but I'd wake up in a milk covered bed and damp milky top. Gross

TurnOffTheTv · 06/09/2015 21:09

Unless you're prone to shitting the bed I can't see the problem.

wanderingwondering · 06/09/2015 21:09

I can't stand sleeping naked. Even when it's warm I need something on. I don't like nighties either-legs have to be covered!

definiteissues · 06/09/2015 21:09

Poo crumbs. That is vile. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit Grin

Hamiltoes · 06/09/2015 21:09

Another one who sleeps naked.

But I always leave my housecoat on the floor beside my bed incase of emergency/ burglary/ fire.

I've spent far too many hours of my life lying awake naked, housecoat in the freezing cold bathroom, debating with myself on wether I should brace the cold and do the awkward naked shuffle under the landing window to fetch it or stay cosy in bed. The "what if theres a fire" always wins eventually.

NotInTheNuddy · 06/09/2015 21:11

YY to the vulnerable comment, that explains it a lot better than icky. No idea why, I just like to keep my bits covered.

nothing ick about it.

I prefer to sleep with underwear + pj's but I know many others sleep just in underwear or naked.

just preference innit

Oysterbabe · 06/09/2015 21:12

I always sleep naked.
It does mean that DH gets riled up more often and I have to tell him to get back in his box though.

iwantgin · 06/09/2015 21:12

No, it's not icky.

However if I am room sharing with a friend in a hotel for example, then i will wear nightwear.

BathshebaDarkstone · 06/09/2015 21:13

No, I sleep naked until the nights start getting colder, about now, then I put a t-shirt on. You need air round your fanjo.

OneBreathAfterAnother · 06/09/2015 21:13

Nobody should have a poo crumbs problem. If they do, they need to learn to wipe their arse, not attempt to contain them in clothes.

Surely they'd just fall out the foot hole anyway?

NotSoDesperateHousewife · 06/09/2015 21:13

YABU, wearing anything in bed is weird

iwantgin · 06/09/2015 21:13

Oyster

That made me laugh out loud.

;)

Mulligrubs · 06/09/2015 21:14

I don't find it icky, but I don't like sleeping naked at all. I'm at the other end of the scale, I wear knickers, a soft bra, pj bottoms and a loose t shirt. People think I am weird, but I find sleeping naked weird. I just can't do it! Plus I am pretty cold blooded and would freeze.

And people also (on MN) go on about airing your bits and wearing knickers in bed causing thrush which is bollocks as well!

SilverNightFairy · 06/09/2015 21:14

I usually sleep bottomless. I would sleep topless but have huge boobs and cats that insists on curling up on my chest. One too many scratches on sensitive places for luxury of going topless..

LovelyFriend · 06/09/2015 21:14

Since being woken at 3 am with the house on fire, I no longer sleep naked.
Be (at least mildly) prepared and all.

LemonPied · 06/09/2015 21:14

I'm a naked sleeper. Unless it's really cold. Then I crack out the fluffy bed socks. God, my DP is a lucky man.

MisForMumNotMaid · 06/09/2015 21:14

I preffer it but DH finds it a bit embarassing (we have a DD together too).

DS1 now 11 with Autism doesn't go through the night so I now wear a negligee at night for the frequent trips up.

DH takes his underwear off for DTD then puts it back on. I have teased him about things falling off if they're not supported but he had a very very prudish and quite abusive upbringing so its taking a lot of time to bring down the barriers and for him to be more comfortable with his own nakedness.

NoDramaForTheLlama · 06/09/2015 21:14

Not icky but I don't like it. I feel strangely uncomfortable unless I have pants, pj bottoms, top and a duvet!

bettyberry · 06/09/2015 21:14

I sleep nude. My bits need an airing!

OH sleeps naked when he stays over. Its rather nice to wake up and not pull PJs off when frisky Grin

RachelZoe · 06/09/2015 21:15

I like sleeping naked, but if not then always bottomless, I loathe sleeping with pants/bottoms on good to air it all out I think Blush

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 06/09/2015 21:16

I cannot sleep with clothing on, at all. We could be in the middle of an ice age and I would still sleep in the buff. Then again, I have high body heat - my partner calls me 'the human radiator'. It's no fun in summer when I can barely have a sheet/duvet over me because I get so warm. Was also a bloody nightmare when living in halls - we had a false fire alarm at least once a week, had to make sure I had something quick and warm to throw on to go outside. I don't like wearing clothes in general though, if I'm around the house and have no plans to see anyone/go anywhere, I'm usually only in a dressing gown or long t-shirt 9depending how cold it is).

pointythings · 06/09/2015 21:17

I sleep naked, DH doesn't. DDs used to be PJ wearers, now also sleep naked. I hate wearing anything when I'm in bed, it feels constricting. And 'icky'? Really?

chipsandpeas · 06/09/2015 21:17

i sleep naked unless its really cold
