To think sleeping naked is a bit...ick?

Just started seeing someone (been friends for a long time) and last night we had our first sleep over. DTD, all good and lovely but afterwards I was dying to put my pants back on.

We ended up having a laugh about it and he admitted he's a naked sleeper, which I have never been. It's not a huge issue but it got me thinking...

Does anyone else out there find sleeping naked icky? Or am I the strange one?

Oooh sleeping naked between flannette sheets on a gloriously snuggly mattress is one of pleasures of being alive.

orlakielyimnot · 06/09/2015 21:18

I sleep in the nude. My oh sleeps in shorts and a tee. Neither of us thinks the other's code is ick, or vulnerable. Personally I find the pj's catch on the bedding and that frustrates me.

Junosmum · 06/09/2015 21:19

I wear a tshirt, no bottoms/ knickers/ pants. It's good to let the foof air a bit. I find I wash my tshirt less frequently that my bedding, which is ick!

Ziar · 06/09/2015 21:21

The abundant use of the word icky is unreasonable.

I kept scrolling and seeing it used with no irony at all. 'Bits' can go on the unreasonable pile too.

Sleeping naked is natural. Anyway, it give my vagina a good airing Wink

DH is a naked sleeper but I need to be wearing pants, vest top, pj bottoms and tight socks before I can sleep comfortably. Even in summer.

I just couldn't do naked.

Ziar · 06/09/2015 21:22

Is this a thread where euphemisms come to die?

HoursTurnIntoDays · 06/09/2015 21:24

Once a burglar came in to my bedroom while I was sleeping and woke me - so I would not want to be sleeping naked. I know it's unlikely to happen again but it just freaks me out

Artandco · 06/09/2015 21:24

Just pants here. Whenever I have tried pjs I get all tangled up and a nightie just moved up into a lump under my armpits!

Isnt it a right pain for dtd with putting a pjs all on, then into bed and all off, then out of bed to put all back on again?

MonicaBilongame · 06/09/2015 21:25

Sleeping just in one's skin is lovely - just as is swimming just in skin. That said, the temperature dictates what I wear in bed.

fastdaytears · 06/09/2015 21:26

Hours that's awful Flowers

Not only do we sleep naked, last night we had naked duvet movie night in the living room. We are pretty rigorous about bed sheets and duvet cover being washed often though.

CantAffordtoLive · 06/09/2015 21:26

I found this so interesting. I love to sleep naked. I'm naturally warm. I love a cool bed. I change my bedding so often, I love the smell of fresh sheets. There's nothing 'icky' about sleeping naked!

Even in the winter there is an open window. mmmm :) loving living in the NE, now I dont need a fan on in the bedroom all night! yay! :)

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 06/09/2015 21:27

I too my boobs to have a little support so wear a long vest top but prefer not to wear knickers

Unless it's very warm my back gets cold in the night

I don't get pj's that all seems a bit too much fabric to wear to bed

PrincessHairyMclary · 06/09/2015 21:28

I'm with you OP. I think it's icky, I sort of see it as you spend 8+ hours in bed, you'd change your underwear after a day of wearing them so why would you want to lie in dried up bodily fluids, sweat etc all over the bed sheets.

My mother finds it weird I shower before bed and still change my PJs every night, I also feel the cold and the vulnerable thing as well. However I live alone with Dd and will admit that I only ever change the sheets once a month in cooler months which I'm sure some of you will find equally icky.

Tootsiepops · 06/09/2015 21:29

Husband and I both hate sleeping naked. He sleeps in his boxers and I sleep in knickers and a vest top.

theelephantknownasnell · 06/09/2015 21:30

I sleep naked (have done since I was around 14/15), unless we're staying with family friends or a hospital stay. It's just how i'm comfortable, always feel tied up in pj's/nightdress.

Why's it icky

SargeantAngua · 06/09/2015 21:31

I can't bear sleeping naked. If it's hot then I find thin cotton pyjamas more comfortable than being sweaty against sheets, and in winter I like to be well snuggled up in warm pyjamas. I am single now, when I had a boyfriend he encouraged skimpy nigglyjig things rather than pj's but I never felt comfortable. I think some of it comes from being a very sweaty sleeper sometimes, and I hate having a dripping wet neck/boobs, prefer pj's to mop it up!

RaspberryOverload · 06/09/2015 21:31

I wear a nightshirt, but nothing else.

Would prefer to sleep naked but I have huge boobs and the nightshirt prevents me rolling over and trapping a nipple which I have done and it flaming hurts

LovelyFriend · 06/09/2015 21:31

i tend to get tangled up in my boobs if I don't have a top on

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 06/09/2015 21:35

Naked here. I am not a still sleeper and I tie myself in knots if there are clothes to be fighting with as well as myself and the bedding. The most I've ever worn in bed when not sharing a room with other people is a vest top if it's really really cold. Even then I'll wake up in the morning and find it has been flung somewhere during the night:o

If I'm sleeping at friends houses or in a hotel I'll wear pants and a tee shirt though as a matter of courtesy, as uncomfortable as it is :)

Elledouble · 06/09/2015 21:36

I like sleeping naked (or just in knickers) if I'm alone, but not if I'm sharing a bed. I don't like how you get clammy and stick together!

Doublebubblebubble · 06/09/2015 21:37

I have to wear minimal clothing to bed. Currently naked in bed (35 weeks and absolutely sweltering) I find it weirder that you're going from one hot situation (sorry about the pun to another - which will only lead to even ickier sweating.

Doublebubblebubble · 06/09/2015 21:38

36 weeks

ISpidersmanYouMeanPirate · 06/09/2015 21:39

I always have nightmares about being naked in public whenever I sleep naked or topless.

Pjs all the way for me

YolandiFuckinVisser · 06/09/2015 21:39

I always sleep naked, dh too. If it's very cold we use a 2nd duvet. If it's very very cold we close the window. Never ever wear clothes in bed. I used to wear a sleep bra when breastfeeding but was such a relief when I could get rid of it!
