To think sleeping naked is a bit...ick?

NotInTheNuddy · 06/09/2015 21:00

Just started seeing someone (been friends for a long time) and last night we had our first sleep over. DTD, all good and lovely but afterwards I was dying to put my pants back on.

We ended up having a laugh about it and he admitted he's a naked sleeper, which I have never been. It's not a huge issue but it got me thinking...

Does anyone else out there find sleeping naked icky? Or am I the strange one?

I always sleep naked unless I'm on my period.

ivykaty44 · 06/09/2015 22:36

Every time I sleep in pants I get thrush - that's iky Blush

ohtheholidays · 06/09/2015 22:37

Nope it's not icky,I can't fall asleep with clothes on.DH doesn't mind, infact he doesn't mind far to much.

OhFuckWhatHaveIDone · 06/09/2015 22:39

I like to be able to scratch my bum if my arsecrack itches while I'm falling asleep. I don't want to do that after (usually) farting for England if I don't have any material forming a barrier between my fingernails and my potentially damp arsecrack.

shutupanddance · 06/09/2015 22:39

Always sleep naked unless its too cold.

Taytocrisps · 06/09/2015 22:40

I can't sleep naked at all. I'm a cold creature. Occasionally I'll fall asleep naked after DTD but I always wake up freezing and have to get out of bed and put on warm pjs.

BrandNewAndImproved · 06/09/2015 22:41

I sleep naked sometimes and other times with pyjamas. I never sleep with knickers on it gives me thrush.

Rarity08 · 06/09/2015 22:42

I like to sleep in the buff. I love putting pj's on after my shower but take them off to sleep. I only wear knickers in bed when on my period too ( and hate it).

Fluffyears · 06/09/2015 22:47

I don't have preference sometimes I'm scuddy, sometimes in just pants, sometimes in pj's. Pants always on when I have my period. DP wears boxers or sometimes comes to bed naked. Different strokes....

HemanOrSheRa · 06/09/2015 22:51

I can't sleep naked. But not because it's icky. I have big boobs so feel more comfortable with a bit of coverage. I also get night sweats and weirdly I feel cooler wearing something Confused. I either wear a nightdress or a pj top. I certainly can't sleep in pj bottoms. I hate the feeling of them bunching up around my legs and the arse/fanny wedgie. Plus, I do like to stick my bare arse out of the duvet to cool down a bit then snuggle back under to overheat again.

DP wears boxers or nothing.

Brummiegirl15 · 06/09/2015 22:52

I sleep naked as does DP. Love the closeness of it. Have always slept naked as get tangled up in nightclothes.

Plus if I am wearing nightclothes I tend to strip whilst asleep Blush for example staying in a hotel with friends. Most of my friends are used to it so just roll their eyes. So if sharing a room I wear pants and a little vest so I don't end up embarrassing them!

If I was staying at someone's house I'd wear something out of courtesy.

I also wear pants if got my period but as 19 weeks pregnant it's not been a while.

In fact the only time I've worn pjs with DP is where I have suffered mcs and so worried about bleeding and industrial sized pads falling out that I wore pjs. Just to make a shit situation even more unbearable

FuryFowler · 06/09/2015 22:57

Naked sleepers here too! I get tangled up in pjs and feel too sticky with pants on, I need my bits to breath!
We also sleep naked next to our children (2&6) is that weird?

KanyeWestPresidentForLife · 06/09/2015 23:00

I find it a bit odd and repressed to wear clothes in bed. It always reminds me of Basil and Sybil Fawlty in separate beds and wincyette night clothes.

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 06/09/2015 23:00

What could possibly be icky about the human body being without a man made item being worn whilst in bed?
Unless I am on my period or breast feeding then I sleep naked. I can't be doing with knickers or pjs getting all twisted and feeling uncomfortable in my crack whilst I am trying to sleep.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 06/09/2015 23:05

Another vote for naked here.

Fresh sheet or thin blanket for summer.

Nice clean sheet and quilt cover for winter. Pre-warmed by leccy blanket for a few minutes in the winter.

Nothing nicer!

I always get tangled/strangled in nightwear.

Will sometimes wear bfs t-shirt if we are sleeping anywhere apart from home.

I always leave the clothes I have taken off beside my bed, in case of emergency. Then pop them in the wash basket when I get up in the morning..

msgrinch · 06/09/2015 23:09

Naked unless I'm on my period. I have large boobs and they get tangled up in bras/tops over night, I change the bed sheets twice a week so not icky at all. Plus there's nothing nicer than windows open and a sheet half on with the breeze on your body, no matter how cold.

BaxterDawes · 06/09/2015 23:11

We both sleep naked all year round.

We went camping for a weekend in August and it was so cold at night we had to wear pyjamas and socks! It was hideous.

Flashbangandgone · 06/09/2015 23:14

Reading this thread it seems like 99% of population sleep naked!... With the Op being in the 1%. I'm in this weird 1% too it seems... Don't have a problem with naked sleeping as such... It's just that I prefer being clothed top and bottom to some degree.

Lweji · 06/09/2015 23:15

I would need a very hot room to feel comfortable. I have tried it and end up feeling cold. I just need constant close contact with fabric.

meadowquark · 06/09/2015 23:26

I sleep in PJ's and like my own old-fashionism.

JeffsanArsehole · 06/09/2015 23:27

I wear pants, bra and pyjamas

Feel weird naked in bed.

CarlaJones · 06/09/2015 23:33

Not icky but I'd feel really chilly. So pjs more comfy for me.

knackered69 · 06/09/2015 23:34

I just can't Blush

I have to wear pants - if I don't, I have mad dreams about being naked in weird places, and I feel really vulnerable.

Dunno why - cos nothings happened to me in that situation, I just can't do it. I can't sleep properly...

elfycat · 06/09/2015 23:38

Since having children I have taken to sleeping fully dressed. It works well for all the night time getting-ups I had been doing. The only downside is that if there's an early or late knock at the door, or someone has to respond to a child in the night, or we need to triple check that the door was locked etc., naked-DH gives me a shove as I'm ready to face the world.

I like being ready to face the world.

I think it might have started because I was feeling vulnerable being on my own in a house with the kids (DH works away 50% of the time). I sleep better at night if I'm dressed. PJs or nudity doesn't work for me any longer.

Mermaidhair · 07/09/2015 06:52

I can't fall asleep if I am nude. I know what you mean by icky. For me it stems from abuse.
