I'm 36 and would like to ttc around Christmas.

I've 2 dc but would love a third.

I don't think 36 is old now for a baby but then I scare myself by googling too much!

48, twice.

Really 36 is nothing.

Ethology I can understand young people thinking it is.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 23/08/2015 00:29

I was 39.
I would love number 3, and I am 41.
Fingers crossed.
A couple of friends were 44 and 45.
The 44 yo had twins.

Gooseysgirl · 23/08/2015 00:30

I've a close friend who was 48, IVF with own egg and sperm donor after years of trying and two losses. She is utterly exhausted from her energetic little one but she is a fab mum and wouldn't have it any other way. I have loads of friends and colleagues who had babies in their 40s.

YesIleftthebastard · 23/08/2015 00:42

My friend at school was 17 and her Parents were 60 and 65. She was tormented about her GPs picking her up at the end of term. I'm 33 and dd1 is 15 so I'm a bit of an early starter Grin

In my immediate circle- me, at 43 (natural, no fertility treatment). But my friend's Mum had her at 46, in 1961.

Gruntfuttock · 23/08/2015 01:42

I had my daughter at 37. She's now 24.

Solo · 23/08/2015 01:52

A friend was 47 and the conception natural.

I had my first at 34 and then I was almost 43 with my Dd.

Nibledbyducks · 23/08/2015 05:35

Friends gran and was 48 when her youngest wad born in the 60's

BeautifulBatman · 23/08/2015 05:37

I'm 40 and due my first in 7 weeks. My aunty was 44 when she had her last child.

CityBeach · 23/08/2015 05:50

One of my grandmothers had her last child at 44.

My aunty had her last child at 46.

A close friend had her first and only child at 41, almost 42.

I know plenty of women who were 37, 38, 39 having their first child and went on to have a second or third!

LastAnni · 23/08/2015 06:02

Used to work with a woman who was n her late 30s and always had to rush off to tend to her mum. I was puzzled by this until another colleague told me her mum was in her late 80s! Yep, she'd been a menopause baby when her mum was 52! It was about 15 years ago that I knew her, so I guess she would have born in the early 1960s, when such events would have been considerably more unusual.

MummyPig24 · 23/08/2015 06:14

51 but I think they used a surrogate. 43 to fall pregnant naturally I think.

blibblobblub · 23/08/2015 06:45

My auntie was 42 when she had my cousin (after many years of trying and a lot of IVF).

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 23/08/2015 08:09

My friend had her first and only child at 44, naturally conceived but a little unexpected.

Twolefttoes · 23/08/2015 08:23

I am about your age and lots of my friends are just having their first or second babies and planning on more.

I know quite a few having their last (presumably) around the 40 mark.

absolutelynotfabulous · 23/08/2015 08:33

Me at 42. One and only, conceived naturally.

bumelastic · 23/08/2015 08:35

My friend was 49. It was a natural conception and he is now 4 and fabulous! People do sometimes assume that she is his nan but it doesn't seem to bother her.

violetwellies · 23/08/2015 08:36

My friend and I both had our first at 46. Mine was a shock (a wonderful much wanted shock) as I had given up all hope and wasn't actually trying.

Lightbulbon · 23/08/2015 08:39

I heard there was a 47yo at DC's school. Never met her though. It wasn't her first DC.

Got the impression (school gate gossip) that it was one of those 'we thought it was the menopause' babies.

RingDownRingUp · 23/08/2015 08:46

A few friends have had babies in their early/mid 40s.

36 is nothing. That's thr typical age of a first time mother in my social circle.

slightlyconfused85 · 23/08/2015 08:49
  1. I was 27 when I had dd but my friends who I met when I had her were 36,37 and 40 so I was very young comparatively
AsTimeGoesBy · 23/08/2015 08:51

46 (having had all three of hers in her 40s) and I know someone else who is pg at 47.

Moltenpink · 23/08/2015 08:58

My dm's friend conceived naturally and by accident in her early 50's. Her son is 4 now, they were surprised but very happy!
