Do married couples actually have sex on wedding night?

Ok so not exactly an AIBU question but...

myself (not married) and some unmarried friends are discussing whether couples actually have sex on their wedding night, or are they too drunk/tired/emotional to DTD?

Any insights welcome - we're curious!

Just to add we did dtd when we were in the honeymoon suite ourselves waiting to go down for the evening.

We didn't. DH mislaid the key to our rented cottage and so we had to spend the night in the spare room in the cottage that my in-laws had rented.

The only bed in the room was a bunk bed. I cried my eyes out, threw my wedding ring on the floor and slept on the lower bunk.

Memories.

We sure did. Got married in Vegas, just the two of us. We left the wedding chapel, and went straight back to our hotel suite to DTD before hitting the town. DH had a hard on all through the wedding ceremony.

No, felt bad after though because I was soooo drunk. Image a non drinker given a drink at every table they visited for a chat....that was me.

Nope. Nor on honeymoon. No medical reason either. Just disinterested husband. It has broken my heart.

We did. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it up as I was knackered and drunk, but it wasn't a problem in the event!

ThursdayLastWeek same here, we hadnt seen each other for a fortnight prior to the Service. Plus niether of us are huge drinkers.

We planned to... but actually spent the night out in the car park while the fire brigades fought the fire and the hotel staff fought the fact they hadn't got a working fire plan.

We did. I was hammered but still managed to get on the sexy undies I'd bought then let him get on with it, I was virtually unconscious.

Husbands having sex with women while they are virtually unconscious is something that actually happens. It gets questioned by the victims who aren't sure if it is really rape or not on the relationships boards. It's best not to joke about it.

Having had this chat with friends none of them did either apart from one couple who had waited to get married to have sex. If we hadn't of being having sex for the ten years before we it married I might have put more importance on it

so, Note to self.

Get someone else to do all the running around.
fewer guests = more energy
have venue at the hotel. Sneak off for a quickie.
Don't get a dress that weighs a ton.
Make sure its easy to take off or the skirt can be flipped up over my arse.
White undies defo (first man I've dated to be ALL OVER white undies )
Pack lube in with my dress/tuck into my garter
Make sure we don't get drunk.
Champagne for the suite.

not married yet but so many tips haha!

Not likely......we were in Cyprus with a 5 month old baby who had to be fed just as we went to bed and again during the night. Our then 4 year old was asleep in the same room and 12 members of our family were in assorted rooms in the hotel corridor.
