Would it be a total faux pas to do this on mn?

We don't hug and we don't hun, right? I think I've got that, spesh from the nm vs mn debate.
But there are a couple of posters in the last few days that I've noticed and I've thought- bloody good point and I like the sound of you.

Do we pm each other and strike up friendships? Or is that way too weird and stalkery and I should without doubt desist?

I actually think this is the loveliest thread ever. Big, big un-mn-y hugs to all of you.

For me, this thread has crossed a bit of a line, and it's lovely.

So, PMs to all of you (there should be an emoticon for that!)

PMs are great. I use them for moral support and chatter :)

I think pms are fine, op. Personally I'd do this only after talking to the poster on a thread, or at least being present on a thread with them. Some people may be too busy to answer and don't want to engage in a friendship thing by email, but I don't think it's stalker-ish to send a few nice words to another poster. More often than not it would make their day :)

In the distant past I've had pms from mumsnetters from time to time, some leading to meet ups etc.
