Would it be a total faux pas to do this on mn?

We don't hug and we don't hun, right? I think I've got that, spesh from the nm vs mn debate.
But there are a couple of posters in the last few days that I've noticed and I've thought- bloody good point and I like the sound of you.

Do we pm each other and strike up friendships? Or is that way too weird and stalkery and I should without doubt desist?

I love PMs. I feel all warm and fuzzy when I find one!
Smile

CatthiefKeith · 17/08/2015 12:43

I quite like a pm now and again, it is nice to be noticed.

I have a handful of posters on my fb. Sadly due to time constraints I have only managed to meet one in person, and even then only once, but I definitely consider her a friend, and one day, when I have more time and money I intend to do a road trip round the UK and meet the rest of the buggers! what is a crerpy pm ?

AnyFucker · 17/08/2015 12:58

I had a pm once to say that folks were talking about me behind my back, that there was actually a blog about me, saying how terrible I was

that was interesting

SophiePen · 17/08/2015 13:00

That sounds horrific AF. I'd have found that very hard to deal with.

UrethraFranklin1 · 17/08/2015 13:02

Was there a blog?

I got one that said I was an bitch from hell who should go and die somewhere alone and unloved. I think it was supposed to upset me? Fail.

Yarp · 17/08/2015 13:04

If you pm'd me, OP, I'd go for a bit of back and forth conversation (I've had some nice ones in the past), but I wouldn't be interested in making friends as such. I'd maybe notice your name on other threads and think 'Oh that's the nice one I pm'd with', but I wouldn't make any more of it that that.

The anonymity is really important to me.

I've never had a nasty pm. I have had one from a nosy reporter wanting to do an article about my first (and disastrous) wedding to dh though. They got pretty short shrift!

I reported them to HQ, but can't remember what happenesd after that. Did you report yours AnyFucker?

AnyFucker · 17/08/2015 13:11

I never found a blog, and strangely the poster was rather reticent to link to it Smile

I don't think I bothered reporting it (it was a couple of years ago)

lemonade30 · 17/08/2015 13:12

OP

nobody on here is 'too good' to receive a well intentioned pm from you, nobody.

They may or may not reply but most of us have the good grace to acknowledge receipt of something so completely benign Smile

CatthiefKeith · 17/08/2015 13:13

Funny that. Smile

Bloody wierdos.

AnyFucker · 17/08/2015 13:13

Sophie, you can block all private msgs if you wish

Whiskwarrior · 17/08/2015 13:14

Oh yes, Dixie, I was around when you were being stalked by that PBP.

What a nasty piece of work they were. I hope everyone who sided with them felt pretty bloody sorry when she was exposed.

AnyFucker · 17/08/2015 13:17

bloody hell, who was that ?

was it that Susan person ?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 17/08/2015 13:17

What's a pbp?

a crerpy pm is like a unicorm.

AnyFucker · 17/08/2015 13:19

a pbp is a previously banned poster

ooh, I like unicorms

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 17/08/2015 13:19

wtaf? I'm glad it didn't bother you. I would've been upset
(I've seen you around before, your username makes me smileWink )

OnAPedalStool · 17/08/2015 13:26

I always make a point of PMing people if I think they are getting an unnecessarily hard time on a thread. Sometimes if their opinion is unpopular or has attracted the attention of some of the more 'vocal ' (for want of a better word) posters on MN, they can be ripped to shreds and few people will dare stand up for them.

Whiskwarrior · 17/08/2015 13:27

I can't remember the name now. Dixieland probably remembers, being on the receiving end of it all.

Interested about 'that Susan' now though.

ExitPursuedByABear · 17/08/2015 13:30

Your absence from Hay Day is the reason we are doing so shit in the Derby these days.

although I failed to complete any tasks in the last one as RL got in the way

Yes please post a picture of the dress. I need cheering up.

ExitPursuedByABear · 17/08/2015 13:30
