To wonder how many cover ups there are and what we're not being told?

I've never really believed in conspiracy theories and thought people who thought there is any kind of truth in them were a bit odd/strange, but since the whole Jimmy Savile thing Im finding myself wondering more and more about what we're not being told things. Years ago I used to post on another forum and people on there were always hinting that Savile was a pervert and then the moderators would come along and ban people for libel and posts would get removed, but it turns out it was all true.

Now today I've just watched an Australian current affairs show attempting to expose a pedophile ring at the very heart of the British establishment, why aren't the UK media doing this? I feel so disturbed. What aren't we being told?

AIBU to wonder how many cover ups there are actually are? Everything is starting to feel a bit unreal, like one big lie.

I was using 'sorry' to politely call into question the logic of a previous point, but I suspect you know that.

If you'd like to try and make the cheapest of cheap points rather than engaging with the substance of the topic, be my guest. (For the avoidance of doubt, 'be my guest' is not an invitation to stay at my flat.)

suzanneyeswecan · 24/07/2015 21:02

oh that obsequious and passive aggressive use of sorry which presupposes that the other person will mind or care that you disagree

Dowser · 24/07/2015 21:02

Mehsmum..I can't see where I pointed the finger at you.

You shouldn't take things so personally. There's good and bad in all walks of life. You are obviously one of the good guys.

Compos :-

The National Crime Agency's conservative estimate of men in the UK with a sexual interest in children is 750,000. Not all of them participate in the sexual exploitation of under 12, but an estimated on-third of them do.

Widely reported by the national press, including www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/11690451/One-in-35-men-has-paedophile-tendencies-crime-agency-claims.html

I don't know about you, but the sexual exploitation of children over 12 doesn't fill me with joy either.

10,000 children go missing from care in the UK every year. Fewer than 10% are recorded by the government. They just cease to exist, as far as documentation goes.

Primary source: www.childrenssociety.org.uk/sites/default/files/tcs/u32/joint_appg_inquiry_-_report...pdf

You may be able to ignore the now constant stream of news stories about mass sexual exploitation of young people, both imported and home grown, but I can't.

I have witnessed some of the 'VIP' child sexual exploitation concerns that were or still are deemed confabulations by the overly sceptical and unwisely confident. You've only got my word for that, obvs.

I've also - separately - played very small parts in quite serious crimes conducted by bastions of governmental rectitude, which no doubt were concealed from the people working in their offices.

You are aware, I imagine, that the supposedly non-existent documents instructing MI5 to cover up CSA by MPs, proving Mrs Thatcher's knowledge of the problem, and proving Leon Brittan's involvement have now emerged - after the Home Office inquiry was closed finding no evidence?
Many reports; here's one: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-33631594

National Crime Agency summary of threats, 2015. You will find here several serious concerns about widescale crime categories that sceptics prefer to think of as exaggerated.

I don't believe the majority of posters to these threads are the kind of idiots who believe self-referencing crud on the internet.

But it's always useful to know what people think of you.

ComposHatComesBack · 24/07/2015 22:40

Your post garlick suggests a number of things
A) There are people who abuse children

B) The most vulnerable children are often sexually exploited

C) Amongst these accused of abusing children, a number were MPs, three of whom warranted serious concern weren't investigated further probably due to the respective statuses of the victim and the accused.

That is evidence that police and social services appear to be failing children who are being abused, not evidence of a widespread VIp paedophile ring run with the full knowledge of the PM and all his predecessors. An extraordinary claim like that requires extraordinary evidence, which is lacking.

Garlick · 24/07/2015 23:15

Well, the Dolphin Square 'parties' really happened.

High-profile BBC personnel really shared their own children around well-known entertainers and politicians.

It is true about Morning Cloud, Haut de la Garenne, teen lads brought from other areas, etc. Other government faces were there.

The only prosecution I ever managed to help with was dismissed, and no public record of the charge remains (although the police have it.) This was an 'Establishment' network which raped little boys, photographed them and delivered them in vans.

It is true that children are still being used as sex slaves by gangs all over Britain, and delivered to order for shadowy customers.

I believe the stories of child hunting parties and ritualised abuse, because of police gossip heard many years before I read the Belgian X-Witnesses accounts.

Of course the extraordinary evidence is lacking. You must admit, however, that extraordinary evidence is in fact emerging decades after the facts. You're free to believe there are no cover-ups until a past cover-up emerges. My life experience (and research abilities!) won't allow me to believe it.

These days I live an extremely dull & invisible life in the middle of nowhere. I am not privy to any secrets of any kind and don't seek them. But I have no doubt that the same things are still happening - sexual exploitation, like financial fraud and drug abuse, is deeply ingrained in many large sectors of society.

ChaircatMiaow · 24/07/2015 23:56

Garlick I feel sick and unbearably sad reading that

Garlick · 25/07/2015 00:01

Yes :( I'm encouraged by the fact things are being taken more seriously now. It takes courage not to look the other way; even more to expose wrongdoing and to pursue justice. Glad that this courage exists.

dougieroseagain · 25/07/2015 00:04

I'm watching the midnight news on Sky News. Is it me or is Obama getting whiter, aka Michael Jackson? OR is it just the lights?

BettyCatKitten · 25/07/2015 00:06

Garlick I've read lots of the links on this thread, and others I've unearthed myself and am sickened by it all. I don't know the country I was born in.

Garlick · 25/07/2015 00:28

I hope it's the lights, dougie Grin

Betty and Miaow - look at how the church is cleaning itself up! (Or should that be churches are?) Before the Magdalen Laundries were exposed, nobody believed the rumours. Everybody told jokes about priests & choir boys for ages - not thinking about the awful truth - until some authorities got the courage & persistence to expose the facts. There have been hundreds of these exposures; denials followed by mea culpas. Light is being shone in dark corners :)

dougieroseagain · 25/07/2015 00:33

My brother went to a Catholic boarding school in the 1980s and his English teacher told my mother that his (the teacher's) sexual fantasy was to line up a row of 13 year old boys and lick mayonnaise out of their navels.

She was so wrapped up in being part of the posh set that she didn't do anything. I'd have called the police myself. I didn't because I was 7. And the teacher is now dead.

UncertainSmile · 25/07/2015 00:37

No, HMS Thetis, a submarine that sunk in June 1939. It resulted in the deaths of nearly 100 men. My Grandfather should have been on it that day, but refused to board as he believed their were problems with it.

That caused me to wander off and research it; if there ever was a cursed ship, It was this one. Sunk with all hands, salvaged and renamed, then sunk with all hands again three years later. I'm not surprised your grandad had a bad feeling about it.

bigkidsdidit · 25/07/2015 07:42

And the queen's honeymoon? Linked to one poster above saying 'well you know apparently William and Kate don't see Charles much'. That is not uncovering evidence of conspiracies it is gossip and innuendo

Damnautocorrect · 25/07/2015 07:58

An extraordinary claim like that requires extraordinary evidence, which is lacking
In abuse, rape and more specifically historic abuse cases evidence is one thing lacking. It doesn't mean it didn't happen, it just needs to be looked at differently.

Sansarya · 25/07/2015 07:59

I don't believe the queen's honeymoon story. The least of which, it allegedly happened in 1964, by which time Prince Edward was born and the couple were far from the honeymoon stage!

Verbena37 · 25/07/2015 08:09

A couple of years ago, I came across something such an interesting and plausible conspiracy but which wasn't even a well known conspiracy that many people knew about.

There is a film which illustrates, without doubt, how the Titanic didn't sink.....it's almost identical sister ship the Olympic did and the amazing thing is that the Titanic carried on sailing as the Olympic until 1935.

Watch the film and see for yourself how clever and simple the insurance fraud was carried out.....
Nobody is saying a ship didn't sink....just that it wasn't Titanic.

Verbena37 · 25/07/2015 08:11

Didn't realise the film would post on the page.....just thought it was the link?

FloraDiesEarly · 25/07/2015 08:19

An article about the Dolphin Square allegations, which are being investigated (sorry it's the Mail) www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3068950/I-abused-Establishment-paedophile-parties-Victim-1970s-Dolphin-Square-ring-tells-forced-perform-sex-acts-senior-Tories-celebrated-Thatcher-victory.html

ComposHatComesBack · 25/07/2015 08:27

damn I'm not doubting children were and are abused, including by famous/influential people. I have no wish to denegrate what these victims went through (something I think the likes of Icke and Spivey do, using awful events as a way of garnering support for their own twisted views). I just question where the evidence is that they are the surface manifestation of a vast subterranean high level paedophiles run with the connivance of current and past prime ministers.

paxtecum · 25/07/2015 09:05

We have no proof that David Cameron, Tony Blair, and all the other PMs knew and condone the abuse of children by members of their parties.
There is proof that Edward Heath took children from Haute de la Garonne on Morning Cloud.
Jimmy Savile used to spend New Year at Chequers with Margaret and Dennis. How strange is that?

I sometimes think that the decent, normal, hardworking everyday people live in a parallel universe along side the scum that run the country.

paxtecum · 25/07/2015 10:01

brynalynvictims.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/jillings-report-released-redacted.html

The Jillings report into abuse of children in NWales was commissioned in 1994. The council insurers read it and ordered every copy to be destroyed as it was described as dynamite.

Fortunately a copy was found recently and the enquiry has been reopened.
Men, including a police superintendent were jailed last week for historic sex abuse.
The report is available to read online. There is a link on the website above.

We need to open our eyes.

Dowser · 25/07/2015 10:25

I posted up thread that Jimmy Savile swore down he had never been to the haute de la garenne, till a picture of him emerged sat outside on a lawn amidst a group of children. I also read a book by one of the survivors from haute and it was heart breaking. Bill maloney ( pie n mash films) sister also went there. I believe she killed herself. He's done a very hard hitting film on it which I believe you can still watch for free.

Here is some of the work of Eddie the cadaver dog that was also used in the McCann case.
Fragments of children's skulls have been passed off as coconut shells. Also with video

voiceforchildren.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/exclusive-footage-of-eddie-cadaver-dog.html

All this and much, much more is on the thread I posted the link too.

There's more here. If my memory serves me well ( and it doesn't always) I believe Stuart syret was sent to prison for speaking out.
