We are on a very tight budget for the next couple of months. We know this, and have got advice from StepChange & I posted a thread on here for recipe /shopping advice.

However, today our card declined trying to pay for £22 or so worth of shopping. We were not expecting that, and now I am very worried and starting to panic

We have some food in for dinners. No packed lunch food though, for ds1 & 2 and dh. We have no milk (well, enough for a bottle tonight for dd) and are down to 3 nappies.

Payday isn't until end of next week, so have to do something until then.

OP posts:

This is weirder than a weird thing on world weird day.

HumboldtFog · 09/11/2015 14:26

I also hope things improve for you OP.

sugar21 · 09/11/2015 14:33

I wish you all the best OP and hope things are a lot better now

ImperialBlether · 09/11/2015 14:44

I think I would cry if I was broke and had PND and was given a list like those posted by sadwidow. It would seem overwhelming to be given so many things to do.

Maybe sadwidow is grieving ?

Liger123 · 09/11/2015 15:04

It comes across as quite controlling behaviour from sadwidow... Early in the thread she name checks someone guilt trips them for not buying margaritte's air fryer

Liger123 · 09/11/2015 15:05

*and

sugar21 · 09/11/2015 15:10

It's all very weird

laffymeal · 09/11/2015 15:14

Agree sadwidow is ridiculously over invested. It's also a bit disturbing that the OP is claiming she has never received any of the 15kg weekly parcels that she's allegedly sending. Something's not right here.

MytwinisMilaKunis · 09/11/2015 15:21

This thread was started when Margaritte was in a financial emergency and Mumsnetters kindly came to the rescue with food deliveries, tons of nappies etc as a stop gap until M's husband got paid.

What bothers me is the food deliveries etc have not stopped since and more stuff is being given and requested (christmas meal, tree and decorations). At this stage M must have tons of nappies (one poster alone sent 300) yet they are still being accepted.

I do believe M is geniuine and I think Sad Widows heart is in the right place but I am surprised this has been allowed to run and run.

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/11/2015 15:31

I think there is certainly one and probably two vulnerable posters at the centre of all this and the kindest thing would be to let MNHQ sort it out.

MyOpinionToday · 09/11/2015 15:43

I don't get the impression that posters are doubting that Margaritte is genuine but I think she must realise that even though she has not requested tangible help (food deliveries, vouchers etc) that her threads (eg her Xmas threads for this years and last year) result in her getting offers of 'help'
There are a lot of kind MN'ers who go out there way to send money or goods if someone says they are skint especially when there are kids involved so although Margaritte isn't actually asking the end result is the same.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 09/11/2015 15:46

Last Christmas too? Confused

Sansoora · 09/11/2015 15:49

Sending huge parcels each week? I think this is a case where the only advice can be step away from the laptop. Way too invested.

The parcels are sent monthly. Not weekly. Its very clearly stated in the post a few pages back.

Sansoora · 09/11/2015 15:54

It's also a bit disturbing that the OP is claiming she has never received any of the 15kg weekly parcels that she's allegedly sending.

The parcels are being sent monthly so its no surprise the OP isn't receiving them weekly.

laffymeal · 09/11/2015 15:57

There's no need to be so pendantic Sansoora. Weekly or monthly, a 15kg parcel is pretty noticeable. The OP claims she hasn't received any. I think more than sadwidow is over invested here Hmm

laffymeal · 09/11/2015 15:57

...or even pedantic Grin

Trickydecision · 09/11/2015 16:01

Yes, SagaNorens, last year too.

here it is

Sansoora · 09/11/2015 16:03

Pedantic Grin

I agree with your opinion that SW is way over invested but if someone is going to be pulled up on her actions they should at least be pulled up on them based on posts being read and repeated factually.

How someone was able to read 'monthly' and change it to 'weekly' is beyond me though I do suspect its was done to make a post all the more juicy.

Sansoora · 09/11/2015 16:06

Margaritte can you confirm you have not received any of the parcels SW is sending you monthly?

Or have you been receiving them and its been misunderstood on the thread?

thank you Smile

laffymeal · 09/11/2015 16:07

Lol, you're probably right Sansoora. I didn't read the full thread and only saw "weekly" in my defence Blush

Sansoora · 09/11/2015 16:11

I remember when my granny first came across "pedantic' as a crossword clue. It set her off on a mission to use it everyday in some way for the rest of her life. Grin Grin

Its why I laughed at you saying I was being pedantic. Grin

laffymeal · 09/11/2015 16:18

Pedantically I'm going to point out that I said you were pendantic...I'll get me coat, think I've taken this too far Grin
