We are on a very tight budget for the next couple of months. We know this, and have got advice from StepChange & I posted a thread on here for recipe /shopping advice.

However, today our card declined trying to pay for £22 or so worth of shopping. We were not expecting that, and now I am very worried and starting to panic

We have some food in for dinners. No packed lunch food though, for ds1 & 2 and dh. We have no milk (well, enough for a bottle tonight for dd) and are down to 3 nappies.

Payday isn't until end of next week, so have to do something until then.

I don't report very often, but I've been lurking on this thread on and off this year, and following what has been said on other threads this weekend I have reported you Sadwidow, as I am concerned about your behaviour. You may be well meaning but you appear to be putting yourself and possibly others in a very vulnerable position.

thornrose · 08/11/2015 21:34

This is a pretty shocking read. Bloody hell, I don't know what to say! Hmm

RustyParker · 08/11/2015 21:37

Sorry, monthly parcels not weekly. But 15kg!

No-one wants to upset you Margaritte but the impression from the thread is that you aren't getting much further in dealing with the root of your money problems and Sadwidow28 keeps popping up asking for things she says you need.

To be honest though, you haven't cleared up any "accusations" (not that anyone has accused you of anything; just that one poster keeps asking for things on your behalf). I hope you are receiving help to deal with your money worries. But in these situations when you accept help or donations via a public forum then people usually feel entitled to know if you are dealing with the long term problem.

This thread was only highlighted because Sadwidow28 was insinuating on another thread that one poster was a troll because they didn't respond to her pm giving them her mobile number; it was sadwidow who drew attention to your thread and her efforts on your behalf, a stranger on the internet.

Notimefortossers · 08/11/2015 21:41

Weird. Weird. Weird. I very badly want to know what SW's deleted message said!! PM me someone please!

wannabestressfree · 08/11/2015 21:41

It's just the thread has turned From helping someone in need to christmas to order and that's what has annoyed me.....its the beginning of November!

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 08/11/2015 21:42
Shock
OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/11/2015 21:51

Margaritte, do you want all of the help that SadWidow is sourcing for you?

thornrose · 08/11/2015 21:53

Sadwidow has sent a blender and monthly parcels. Offers to send out OPs address to any random MNer. Acts as her self styled PA, including making calls on her behalf and coordinating ongoing, long term help.

OP at some point you have to say enough is enough. It looks a bit like you are taking advantage of someone's kindness now. Sorry if that upsets you but I just have to say it.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 08/11/2015 21:54

Rusty has the size of it. And sad is linking threads together and saying people are accusing others of things which simply isn't the case...but by doing so it's making everyone suspicious anyway! It's totally bizarre.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 08/11/2015 21:57

thorn wanna rusty I'm with you. Couldn't believe it when I read the updates!

Incidentally RustyParker your UN is the name of my DGPs dog Grin Wooooooo!

MyOpinionToday · 08/11/2015 21:57

OP I hope things improve for you but I have serious misgivings about asking for and accepting what appears to be a lot of help from strangers. I worry about all the posters who get short shrift with seemingly identical problems. I think it's great to highlight all the amazing charities out there and all the different places you can get advice.

The problem with this type of thread is that I think they must encourage scammers. The scammers will see that Margeritte is receiving help and can easily mimick her style of posting. This in turn makes people who are in genuine need of a bit of support and help not want to post. I think Mumsnet should suggest people don't give handouts to individuals.

margeritte I hope you can see where I'm coming from. I've posted advice on your threads under different NNs

HumboldtFog · 08/11/2015 21:58

Oh blimey.
Even more Shock with each new revelation.

Saga, yes it's just creating suspicion that wasn't there in the first place.

clam · 08/11/2015 22:04

What the hell...?????

FluffyPingPong · 08/11/2015 22:13

This thread is just getting weirder by the day! A monthly 15kg parcel of what?!

CocoChanel22 · 08/11/2015 22:22

what the fuck

That's about all I can string together after reading this, WTF!!!

Margaritte · 08/11/2015 22:23
Sad I'm sorry that this is turning this way. The thread has certainly not turned into a Christmas to order ' thread. My Christmas thread that was linked on here is ideas for any MNetters on a budget, and it's clear that is what it is.

This thread has been running for just over 5 months- not over a year. I haven't asked for anything, other than advice. I haven't accepted money, and I don't receive monthly parcels.

To answer questions 'the how are you helping yourself?' question;
I've taken all the advice on this thread, and have a plan with StepChange to pay of all our debt. We meal plan, and I've learnt to cook from scratch with the recipes on here. We've sold everything that we could is websites recommend up thread (music magpie/ FB etc)

Margaritte is in Kent. But I would be happy to pay for postage for the baubles and tinsel. I use myHermes to send 15kg boxes to Margaritte each month - that costs me £9.99.

This post by Sadwidow makes no sense to me then Margaritte. I'm glad you've been able to takes so many positive steps yourself, but I am very confused.

HumboldtFog · 08/11/2015 22:30

I'm very disturbed by the post at :

What the fuck indeed, Batman.

HubertsBirthdayStick · 08/11/2015 22:33

I echo the fact sadwidow says she has been sending you parcels.
This is probably the oddest read ever.

IonaMumsnet · 08/11/2015 22:33

Evening all. Given the recent turn of events on this thread, we're going to suspend it while we have a more thorough look into everything.

AmyGMumsnet · 09/11/2015 10:50

Good morning everyone

Just wanted to reassure you all that we’re still looking into this and will be back later. Thanks for bearing with us.

AmyGMumsnet · 09/11/2015 13:09

Hi all

Thanks very much for bearing with us while we had a good look behind the scenes.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that anyone is not genuine on this thread, but we have mailed the OP and sadwidow28 to clear up a few points.

In the meantime we're reopening the thread but will be keeping a close eye on it.

Thanks once again for your patience Flowers

RustyParker · 09/11/2015 14:15

tillItook No way, haha! My User Name is a Rita Hayworth character in a film. Would love to hear if that's also why your DGP's dog is called that Grin

The reason why I mentioned that op's situation has been going on for a year is a post from op early on saying these problems have been going on since last Christmas.

I genuinely hope you resolve your situation.
