We are on a very tight budget for the next couple of months. We know this, and have got advice from StepChange & I posted a thread on here for recipe /shopping advice.

However, today our card declined trying to pay for £22 or so worth of shopping. We were not expecting that, and now I am very worried and starting to panic

We have some food in for dinners. No packed lunch food though, for ds1 & 2 and dh. We have no milk (well, enough for a bottle tonight for dd) and are down to 3 nappies.

Payday isn't until end of next week, so have to do something until then.

Ruralretreating · 06/11/2015 19:38

Cab I help? Have tons of extra Christmas decorations and am often in Hythe near Folkestone visiting mu mum, I work as a food journalist so am sent tons of stuff like advent calendars, puddings, chutneys etc etc x

sadwidow28 · 07/11/2015 21:23

Thank you for all offers of help for Margaritte.

I have responded to all PMs - and I think there is a plan for Margaritte's family.

I still can't get a message through to Ruralretreating I have tried every which way and I keep getting blocked. Can anyone else contact Ruralretreating and tell him/her I am trying to make contact - just say "Christmas Dinner Ocado" and I think that will make sense.

Thank you everyone.

Ruralretreating · 07/11/2015 23:03

Hi SW, sorry you've had trouble reaching me, I've no idea what's wrong with my account! I'll PM you again with some further contact details for me.

AF started a thread about something completely different that was nothing to do with you

Maryz did not fuel it, she and others raised some very valid concerns re your behaviour

Hobnob

Spot on, I actually think this is getting a bit weird and worrying

sad widow, for your own sake I think you should take a step back from MN for a while, this isn't healthy

Sadwidow28 What on earth are in these 15kg boxes you send to the op weekly? I think you may have a saviour complex and now is the time to step back from encouraging the op to rely on you and other posters.

OP your situation has been going on for over a year now I believe; I don't think Mnetters can or should help with your situation long term and now is time to approach specialist charities to help deal with your debt.

CAB can deal with creditors on your behalf; particularly regarding council tax / housing benefit problems, tax credit issues. Citizens Advice

Free debt advice www.nationaldebtline.org/

I wish you well op and I hope your situation starts to improve with the professional help out there.

Evening folks. Just a reminder that we'd really love to keep this thread on track. We know it didn't start as a thread about a thread and we don't want to delete it when there is so much good advice here, so please can we ask everyone to stick to the topic in hand from now on? Many thanks.

sadwidow28 · 08/11/2015 19:16

All PMs have now been answered and Margaritte will get in touch with each of you directly this evening.

Your kind offers have been accepted.

sugar21 · 08/11/2015 19:16

sad widow I think it's time to step away from MN, you are hugely over invested in someone else's life and you are being ungracious to other posters

wannabestressfree · 08/11/2015 19:28

Mmmmmmmm Hmm am with rusty

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 08/11/2015 20:22

Dear god is someone sending parcels on a weekly basis to a random off the internet
Confused

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 08/11/2015 20:24

And this is why inhale threads like this
One poster gets handout after handout while others get nowt
Far better to support organisations like food bank and similar charities

Margaritte · 08/11/2015 20:39

Hello- have just seen the updated threadConfused
Not quite sure what has happened on other threads, or why thread this has turned into what it has. I can't see SadWidows post on here, as it's been deleted.
I'm just wanting to clear up the accusations that I'm sitting around, accepting weekly handouts and being bone ideal about my situation. Not sure why it's assumed I am?

wannabestressfree · 08/11/2015 20:54

Because sadwidow said she was sending you huge parcels and your thread has been running a year....

HumboldtFog · 08/11/2015 21:03

Shock Confused

In my 6 years on MN, I think this is the first time I've actually been speechless.

buildingamystery · 08/11/2015 21:12

Sending huge parcels each week? I think this is a case where the only advice can be step away from the laptop. Way too invested.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 08/11/2015 21:13

Me too Fintan.

HumboldtFog · 08/11/2015 21:19

The parcels aren't weekly, they're monthly.
But still Shock
