Two people I know we're in a syndicate at a social group they attended. The group won around £9million, between (iirc) 11 of them. Nice, eh?

No, but I got 4 numbers last Wednesday and got £138! Such excitement. Didn't tell anyone - not even DH. We're a bit broke at the moment, so it will ease the shopping bills - and pay for Fathers Day presents.

flabby we got 4 numbers when we were kids and my mum and the 3 of us kids danced and screamed around the house like it was millions! We were very poor growing up so it made a huge difference, I think it was £68!

A guy in my village won a massive amount on the Euro. The lucky bugger.

I know someone who won £250 000 on a scratch card. It wasn't a "let's retire" amount but it did stop them having to worry about where the mortgage payment was coming from that month.

My aunt did about ten years ago. It was a huge syndicate so a huge jackpot ended up with about 75k each

When the lottery started a friend won over £1m we were so happy for her, hubby had skipped leaving her a pile of debts. They were divorced when she won and he tried to get half!!! Another couple we knew won well over £1m. They were young but invested it wisely.

I don't know anyone who won more than a tenner on the lottery, but I do know a couple who took a sideboard onto Antiques Roadshow and found that was worth about 50k.

The sister of a friend of mine won £1m on the Euromillions raffle. She'd never bought a ticket before.

FirstWeTakeManhattan - that's why I've stopped doing set numbers and just do lucky dip, I couldn't handle it! I do it online so I never know what numbers come up.

One is an ex bf parents, they won around 120k way before I met him and had invested it in a small corner shop. They didn't have a clue how to run a business and it went bankrupt within 2 years, they also bought a narrow boat and now live on it and they work on a market stall.

Another is a one of my best friends who won a considerable amount on the euro millions a couple of years ago. She has invested it and started up a charity etc, she also used some of it for IVF and got her longed for DD. she also gave a lot away to family & friends. Winning the money has not changed her one bit :)

Yes, friends parents won approx 1.3m when the lottery first started. Lovely family.
