To not like the way Prince George is dressed (and think it's often not weather appropriate)

OK I have said it....

I am in London and it was fucking freezing today OK maybe I am exaggerating a little but it was NOT shorts weather

I am not anti Royal, I tuned in to hear about the baby's safe arrival and wee George is just a cutie-pie but I don't like how they dress him.

So AIBU?

Didn't feel like 15c! Quite windy and cloudy where I am (central North)

Well, the Duchess of Cambridge probably doesn't like they way lots of people dress their DC.

I imagine George does have a pair of jeans in his wardrobe, but I think something slightly more formal was required today, with the world watching.

Totality22 · 02/05/2015 22:07

Shorts aside, his clothes are always so dated?

I thought he was beautifully dressed. Of course he wears traditional things, he's a prince.

I loved his little shoes.

ShatnersBassoon · 02/05/2015 22:09

He's always smartly dressed, like his parents, but always in practical, comfortable clothes. Shorts and long socks for little boys should never have gone out of fashion. He's adorable.

SinglePringle · 02/05/2015 22:10

I love the way he is dressed and think he looks comfortable and age appropriate. If I had one like him, I'd dress him similarly. Loved his jumper, short, socks and proper shoes combo.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 02/05/2015 22:10

I feel sorry for the poor boy having a comb over.

usualsuspect333 · 02/05/2015 22:11

It's that no long trousers until you are 16 thing that the upper classes go for.

ShatnersBassoon · 02/05/2015 22:12

It's a side parting. I doubt he's bald beneath.

PerspicaciaTick · 02/05/2015 22:13

Here we go. The exact same thread from last time Prince George appeared in public.

LynetteScavo · 02/05/2015 22:13

He was wearing knee high socks and was going from a heated car to a heated hospital. He must have been outside for about 20 seconds. He's hardly going to get a chill.

Annunziata · 02/05/2015 22:13

MN is mad, the boys in dresses are told they are fine and an adorably and sensibly dressed wee child is mocked.

HarrietVane99 · 02/05/2015 22:13

I like soft fabrics on very young children. Much more freedom of movement, and less bulky over a nappy than jeans. I'd have thought those little trousers would be much easier to put on.

Anyway, no-one knows what he wears when he's not on public view.

PannaDoll · 02/05/2015 22:14

YANBU I cannot stand the gestapoish black leather shoes they've aleays had him in alongside the old man button down shirts. It's such an oddly contrived look it bothers me.

Also, I'm usually getting told off by old ladies for having my kid uder dressed for the weather but even I internally screamed 'shorts?' today Grin

My DSs had to wear shorts all year round at their (private obvs) school.

Very character forming when there's snow on the ground!

RJnomore · 02/05/2015 22:16

His clothes are gorgeous.

I'd dress a little boy like that.

I hate all the jeans and stuff little toddlers are put in.

Poor little lamb looked a bit overwhelmed by it all though.

mountainofdreams · 02/05/2015 22:16

I loved his outfit and actually was wondering what shop/brand it was.
I'm expecting a girl and would love to dress her to have a similar look (but girly!).

EggsAreNotFromCows · 02/05/2015 22:16

Not dated. He looked lovely. I have always dressed little DSs in shorts, dungarees, rompers etc. personally I don't like little children in jeans, they've got so many years of that ahead. Plus denim isn't very comfortable.

Aurochs · 02/05/2015 22:16

Maybe he is doing it himself. Maybe those are his favourite shorts and he screamed until he was sick so they let him wear them – then he was a sweetie pie for the cameras :o

LynetteScavo · 02/05/2015 22:17

I think William and George co-coordinated their outfits very well.

ShatnersBassoon · 02/05/2015 22:17

The Gestapo wore Start-rite sandals? Shock

LowryFan · 02/05/2015 22:17

My DS is 10 and wears shorts every day to school. His choice, itz not cuz we is posh.

He is used to it and a hardy thing. I imagine the prince is similar. (Although prob not as tough as my PFB obvs)

Aurochs · 02/05/2015 22:18

I think he does have a faintly old-fashioned vibe but he doesn't look uncomfortable. I can relate though. I dressed 6mo DS in a fairisle tank top that made a friend remark he looked like a miniature vicar.

In my defence it was from H&M and I thought it was extremely hipster.

naughtylist · 02/05/2015 22:18

YABU. Not a fan of the royal family at all but I always think George looks adorable.
