I don't fit in. I'm old (55), Scottish, sent my DC to private school, not feminist, vaguely right wing, love my DH of 28 years, love red meat, etc. etc. Although I do love Mumsnet. What can I do?

OP posts:
Mintyy · 24/04/2015 19:07

This is a terribly attention-seeking op is it not?

There is no identikit Mumsnetter. Obviously.

hiddenhome · 24/04/2015 19:09

I love spiders, I definitely don't fit in.

Cactuar · 24/04/2015 19:11

I love you auntie mintyy - sorry for being drunk again - I promise I don't have a drinking problem!! this is the first time I have been really drunk since you told me off which was aaaaages ago (that might not be strictly true)

Cactuar · 24/04/2015 19:13

That time was on a bus too

Moln · 24/04/2015 20:17

This type of thread isn't that unusual though is it? See OP you are average!

They always have a list of why they don't 'fit in' and their preserved idea of the standard MNetter is always different.

Generally it's a chip on shoulder thing or a false sense of superiority.

Pagwatch · 24/04/2015 20:19

I'm now more preoccupied with pissed Cactuar getting home ok on that bus.

Moln · 24/04/2015 20:22

First things first is she on the right bus?

Cactur are you on the right bus?

Pagwatch · 24/04/2015 20:30

She's asleep isn't she?
She's nodded off and is right now dribbling down the jacket of some bloke sitting next to her whilst muttering 'I love you mintyy '

derxa · 24/04/2015 20:43

That's me pag's

OP posts:
derxa · 24/04/2015 20:47

Terribly attention seeking

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 24/04/2015 21:34

You know I didn't post 'terribly attention seeking'?

Or do you mean you are currently pissed and asleep on the bus with Cactur
Grin

Mintyy · 24/04/2015 21:41
Grin

Something funny's def. going on.

Should I be insulted that someone thinks of me as their sensible Aunty?

Cactuar · 24/04/2015 21:43

Generally I don't post - am very much a lurker - only prolifically post when am drunk on a bus which is possibly more than is healthy. Am now drunk at home. Grin

Pagwatch · 24/04/2015 21:43

A drunk person thinks that Mintyy, a drunk person.

Grin
Pagwatch · 24/04/2015 21:44

X-posted

Yay Cactaur made it home!

Mintyy · 24/04/2015 21:50

Well done Cactuar!

A nice big glass of water or cup of tea now maybe?

Cactuar · 24/04/2015 21:55

Aunty mintyy all I can say is you were very lovely to me last time I was on here and drunk on a bus and i have never forgotten - luffs u. Water may be a good idea but at the moment prosecco seems better. Luv u mumsnet (I am a very nice drunk)

butterflyballs · 24/04/2015 21:59

I didn't realise we had to pass some sort of test to post here.

I've got two kids to two dad's (and don't live with either of them)
Don't drink wine or g&t and very rarely drink anything else
I live in jeans and have never shopped at boden in my life
I don't give a toss what anyone gives their kid for lunch
I am not obsessed with school places or living in the "right area"

I'm sure there's a few other things that just me ...me.

Cactuar · 24/04/2015 22:01

Hello butterflyballs - I am currently listening to Kate Bush with dh - do you like Kate Bush - she is awesome xx

blackcats73 · 24/04/2015 22:36

I think that the average mumsnetter has higher than average income and education but there is a wide range . I'd class myself as a feminist but only agree with abortion on demand tp 24 weeks.

I'm voting labour but live in a detached house in a village in the shires.

My kids eat crap after being reared on organic veg. We went to Oxbridge but our kids are level 4 year 6 fooking average .

thecatfromjapan · 24/04/2015 22:55

I'm liking the idea of swapping prose co for water.

I also want a pgce from ambridge.

hobNong · 25/04/2015 00:04

Nothing in the op was 'ummumsnetty' though. Confused

There's loads of Scottish posters. There's definitely other posters over 50. There's a whole section on schooling where I've seen discussion on various private schools. There's a massive range of political views. I think any woman who actively chooses to not be a feminist is silly, but you certainly aren't alone in that. As for the red meat thing, I have no idea where you got that from. Most of the batch cooking people like here is beef mince based. And recently on a thread about what you've eaten today, there were quite a few steaks and lamb chops.

hobNong · 25/04/2015 00:06

butterflyballs I'm just like you. Except I've only got one dd and live with her dad. Otherwise we match in our non-boden jeans.

hobNong · 25/04/2015 00:08

I think the op must shop in boden or it would have been mentioned in the list.

BabyGanoush · 25/04/2015 00:16

You are really saying we are all English lesbian vegetarian feminists, OP, aren't you?
