To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?

This has probably been done, I know there was a long running thread about this very subject but I can't find it?
So, several months on I see Dax's parents have still not made the promised donation to Ronald McDonald hospice. On March 2nd they updated the Facebook page to say they works be making the donation 'very soon', but still nothing.
Am I the only one thinking they have no intention of donating any money out of the tens of thousands donated to them? That in fact they intend to keep it all and deny the very charity that provided them with so much support in the early weeks of their Childs life?
In fact, I don't think im the only one judging by the comments on the Facebook page.
I think they're hoping it will blow over and if they keep quiet long enough people will forget.

I don't understand the complete wall of silence. Perfectly understandable from lee and Katie I mean but not one mother/father
friend/brother/sister/aunt/uncle etc have come to their defence? That's just odd.

JoanHickson the corner sofa from the second picture looks like this sofa and glass doors from the Macy's Living Room on the RMH NYC site www.rmh-newyork.org/macys-living-room

Cantbelievethisishappening · 12/04/2015 18:43

1000's in donations has been spent
A token donation has been made so strictly speaking they have kept their side of the arrangement
They will refuse to engage or answer questions
As I understand it they have not broken the law
The FB page will be taken down with some half baked excuse given
They will hope that this eventually die a death as long as they refuse to discuss

Realistically what else can be done?
Such a shame it has come to this. Very sorry for the charity.

Thanks Rose

kew I was thinking the same thing earlier. Her mother wasn't at all happy with TD in the first few days, but nothing from any of them since. Surely family and friends would be defending them. If it was my brother or friend and they were definitely legit, I would be standing up for them.

Possibly they know exactly what's going on or Lee has managed to hoodwink them into thinking its all above board and its best not to get involved. Since Lees charm seems to be quite sparse, I expect its the former.

kewtogetin · 12/04/2015 18:50

I know if it was me in this situation my friends and family would be rallying round and defending me staunchly, you know, because that's what friends and families do?

Surely anyone with an ounce of self respect and or self preservation would just donate all the money to RMH.

The insurance paid out, the charity helped them massively, the actually outlays must have been very small, so surely the mone the DM paid them would have easily covered it.

To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?
To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?
SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 12/04/2015 19:04

The average bungalow for rent in Skegness is around £550/month. Utilities for a month are what? £200? Not using electricity or heat or water if they're not there, plus council tax. And then car tax on 5 cars: £60/month? Plus passport papers and stuff for Dax...£500? £1000? I suppose they bought clothes in NYC but the whole reason they went to NYC was to buy clothes, right? So they must have had SOME money with them. So, even if they spent £5,000, 6,000-ish to cover this stuff there should be more than enough left to make a substantial donation to appease those who donated thinking it was for medical bills and not for personal expenses, and to leave a legacy for Dax and to show their gratitude.

TheFairyCaravan · 12/04/2015 19:14

It is the RMH and it makes it worse imo that they can't even be bothered to donate when they did so much for them when they stayed there.

this video is filmed in the same room. It's got the same carpet, paint etc.

Tbh I can't believe the fb page is still even there. But i suppose people will just flock to Richards gym fb page if this one isn't open.

They are still hoping by putting their heads in the sand it will all go away. At least the homeless in Heathrow couple kept out of it completely. A lot harder to track down and question personally. Richard may well regret using this to get pr for the gym. If I was a member I would leave. I wouldn't let either of them have my money every month.

Need to speak to pils. They live near by. According to a previous poster (who says they are not richard) lots of people are talking about those thread. I wonder if they can tell me what public opinion is there.

kinkyfuckery · 12/04/2015 20:53

Could someone on the FB page please ask if the donation they've made is the funds raised by well-wishers, or the 'personal donation' the couple promised to make on their return home. Thanks.

Confused
To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?
Chippednailvarnish · 12/04/2015 21:11

The tide is turning, the comments on their FB page are far more critical than they have been before.

From another angle, should ld Allianz insurance just take the hit of these costs, when the costs might have been effectively met from alternative funding sources ?

“Double the cover does not mean double the payout,” “The principles of insurance mean that you are not permitted to make a profit from a claim."

www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/insurance/10146719/Do-you-have-too-much-insurance-cover.html

We all fund the insurance industry via our premiums ...

londonrach · 12/04/2015 21:14

Sold a story re how much they gave or papers investigated the scam....

2MuchLoveWillKillYou · 12/04/2015 21:17

Nah remember when td sent dm to a mnetter saying there is a reason blah blah blah...

LilMissSunshine9 · 12/04/2015 21:18

I doubt its about how much they gave because they posted on fb that they wanted to keep it confidential unless they have changed their minds - thing is you would of thought they would at least post on fb that they cannot say how much as they are going to make a public annoucement...would help to keep it all looking above board.
