To wonder why there has STILL been no donation?

This has probably been done, I know there was a long running thread about this very subject but I can't find it?
So, several months on I see Dax's parents have still not made the promised donation to Ronald McDonald hospice. On March 2nd they updated the Facebook page to say they works be making the donation 'very soon', but still nothing.
Am I the only one thinking they have no intention of donating any money out of the tens of thousands donated to them? That in fact they intend to keep it all and deny the very charity that provided them with so much support in the early weeks of their Childs life?
In fact, I don't think im the only one judging by the comments on the Facebook page.
I think they're hoping it will blow over and if they keep quiet long enough people will forget.

Allianz would have paid for the taxi to the passport office. We had insurance with them when our DS broke his leg on holiday, they pay for travel to the hospital, to get certificates etc. We weren't out of pocket by a penny.

WRT paying for their food a woman from Ronald McDonald House in NY came on the page saying she cooked meals there when another woman said she'd take food round, so they wouldn't have had to have bought that much really. It probably didn't meet his exact standards!

As Tricky is reading, why did you say they "need everything for Dax"? The article they did for the Daily Mail said they bought it all before they went to NYC. The trouble is with this fundraiser is it was built on lies and Lee is fame hungry, so the web of lies are beginning to tangle.

It's as sick as fuck to manipulate the public and cheat people out of their money by using a poorly, premature baby.

MoanCollins · 07/04/2015 22:26

No, that's definitely a lie. Because I remember when it first started if you went onto his website Katie was listed as one of the trainers at his gym. Totally separate from Lee. He was doing muscle man type personal training and she did more female aerobics type classes.

She even had timetables of her classes at his gym on her facebook page, she was sharing them and urging people to come to her classes. She put notices up for when she wouldn't be working over Christmas. I saw the timetable and she was basically there full time.

That's an out and out lie. This is starting to look so grim. :(

trickydicky said "Look, there will bea donation, just when they want and not when you say. It is not a legal matter and no laws have been broken. Obviously I checked all that, and there are also no tax implications. So, I'm not sure what you think you will achieve. Thats not being cocky, it's the truth. I wouldn't mind if I was inundated with messages from people that donated saying they felt conned, but there has not been a single one. I have saved EVERY single message. There are many saying they want their donation to be kept and put in a savings account for Dax. So which view do you think is more important. Yours, someone who didn't donate, or the people that did?"

So... he / the parents have done their checks as to whether laws have been broken by not making a donation. They've checked the tax implications which presumably means they were worried they'd need to pay income tax on the money by keeping it. All not looking like a donation will be made.

But it's all good - as he says it's not a legal issue... but it's definitely a moral one. People donated in good faith and they have not been in the least transparent about where the money has gone.

TheFairyCaravan · 07/04/2015 22:30

I remember Katie being listed on the gym website too, Moan.

I remember the woman being named and shamed, too. I remember Tricky Dicky threatening to report her to her employer too.

kewtogetin · 07/04/2015 22:35

What goes around comes around. If I were in their situation id be very wary around about now. Keeping the money is wrong, and they know it, hence checking all the loopholes. Is it really worth selling your name, your reputation both past and present and the good faith of hundreds of people for the sake of a few grand? Money really does bring out the worst in people.

Hhhmmm it seems that I am not only the one whose memory may be vague on what happened - the person who asked for their donation back was named and shamed by the FB admin and there was also mention of contacting her employers which I did think was rather extreme.

It also stated, again if I remember correctly but I cannot check the facts as the comments have been deleted - the FB admin and the Gofund page both stated initially that there was a problem with the insurance and that they needed the money to cover the medical expenses.

I believe many posters perhaps did not complain but asked questions for clarification on how the donations were to be spent - these posts it appears no longer exist. I struggled to understand why the comments no longer exist if the answers by FB admin and followers were non-aggressive and gave a thorough breakdown as to exactly how the donations were to be spent.

Can someone please explain why Lee is selling cheesecake to his friends?

Is it a cake sale to raise money for RM House?

kewtogetin · 07/04/2015 22:39

There was certainly no mention of RMH in lee's '2 slices for a fiver' market trader patter, onion rings no. Maybe he needs a new coat?

There were plenty of comments from people who donated through the fundraising page saying that they had donated to help with medical costs - this included students and other people who could probably I'll afford it. From what Tricky is now saying, it appears that they feel justified in keeping the money because a few people on his own FB page (the comments he didn't delete) said they should keep the money for Dax. I would be surprised if there are health problems with Dax given what the parents have already said, and if there were I think the dad would be onto the press/tv like a flash.

Sallystyle · 07/04/2015 22:43

Have the parents actually said thank you for the money yet?

Was expecting to hear it on the This Morning interview but it didn't happen.

TheFairyCaravan · 07/04/2015 22:44

I remember it being on the local news that the insurance were paying out, I was one of quite a few who posted on the page but Tricy Dicky pleaded ignorance. It was quite late the next day that the wording was changed, hence people carried on donating thinking the family might have a huge medical bill!

spudholes · 07/04/2015 22:45

From Trickydicky: Katie is getting paid by her full time employer. Yes, she helped her partner a few hours a week, but they are classes they run themselves. They dont get paid by me one penny.

Auntbessie1 · 07/04/2015 22:49

Nobody was named and shamed as I recall. It was a lady that was threatening herself that got threatened with the employer being notified.

You lot need to get a life! If you donated then feel free, if you didn't then my word you are sad!

RebootYourEngine · 07/04/2015 22:52

They are all scum. Using a prem baby to get money. Who the hell does that.

I remember her advertising the gym & i remember the person being harassed when asked for a refund. The persons employer was mentioned as well.

spudholes · 07/04/2015 22:53

trickydicky

If you ever want to call me for a chat, then let me know. I have nothing to hide and will be more than happy to answer any questions you wish to ask. I cant say fairer than that.

AyeAmarok · 07/04/2015 22:53

As Judge Judy says:

If you tell the truth, you don't have to have a good memory.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/04/2015 22:55

TBF, I always had the impression that while Tricky ran the gym, Lee and Katie were self-employed, so he may actually not be their employer...

Auntbessie1 · 07/04/2015 22:55

RebootYourEngine you are wrong. That was not the lady that wanted a refund

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 07/04/2015 22:56

I remember it too. But no doubt we are ALL wrong!

TheFairyCaravan · 07/04/2015 22:57

I remember that, too Reboot. I remember people from the page being quite agressive and abusive to her.

RebootYourEngine · 07/04/2015 22:58

Correct me then Auntbessie seeing as you seem to know everything. Were there two different people. Did someone ask for their money back & was someone else abused on the fb page? Maybe i didnt notice, what with all the deletions that went on.

Auntbessie1 · 07/04/2015 22:58

No, the lady that asked for a refund was not named. But you are wrong on lots of things

trufflesnout · 07/04/2015 23:01

I don't understand why tricky is reading along but messaging you directly spud. You have more patience than me, I would have told him to do one by now

RebootYourEngine · 07/04/2015 23:02

Ah well i am sorry that i and many others seem to be mistaken & just imagined that a lady asked for a refund and was sent a lot of abuse. Hmm

trufflesnout · 07/04/2015 23:02

Well we'll never know for certain will we, because old trickydicky has spent an awful lot of time deleting things and backtracking on statements...

wooldonor · 07/04/2015 23:02

How do you know she wasn't named Auntbessie1? Unless you were watching the page constantly you wouldn't know what had been deleted.

I saw posts yesterday that are no longer there now, did you see those too?
