I can't stand the wanker- apparently many do like him though- including David Cameron- Part of the Chipping Norton Set.

He won't be kept off TV for long- too much money at stake.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 12/03/2015 07:59

I would actually prefer top gear without him. That's irrelevant, though.

I wonder what would happen in most places of employment if one employee "aimed a punch at" another employee? His fame is as irrelevant as my opinion of him, or it should be.

MardyBra · 12/03/2015 08:20

Done. And bumping.

LovelyBranches · 12/03/2015 09:07

YABU. Since when was employment law in this country based on whether we like the person. There are hard fought employment laws in place and they are being wittered away by this Government already.

That said, I don't like the man and wouldn't be sorry for him if (under the correct procedure) he was sacked.

CunningCat · 12/03/2015 09:22

Signed. It is very telling that he and David Cameron are 'mates' and part of the Chipping Norton Set!! What a pair of wankers!!! They both treat people with utter contempt and are a pair of entitled twats!!

OTheHugeManatee · 12/03/2015 09:29

YABU. He's a bit of an oaf but I get so weary of the Po and he is very good at Po baiting.

Arguably too he is representative of the social attitudes of quite a lot of the country. Or is the BBC only supposed to be representative in certain Po ways?

yogeek · 12/03/2015 09:58

I signed this with pleasure :-) His latest escapade is like something that might happen at the creche!! He hit somebody because he didn't get what he wanted for his dinner !? Boo hoo. He's a big boy now and if he wants to drive a car on the TV he should be able to behave like an adult all the time. Racist and sexist gittery are extra reasons that I don't like him.

SoupDragon · 12/03/2015 10:00

Signed!

CatsCantTwerk · 12/03/2015 10:05

I have no idea why people are signing this petition. Surely if you don't like Top Gear You just don't watch it Confused

Rjae · 12/03/2015 10:06

To me he just crosses the line and betrays his real attitudes. Not a question of PC imo. He is just sleazy and a bully if this alleged punch happened.

OP posts:
Fuckup · 12/03/2015 10:07

yanbu, he's a boring throwback with an inflated head. Sooner he's ousted we can get some proper fresh talent coming through, and people might actually bother getting a license again. He makes my skin crawl, so embarrassing that people think of him when they think of British people.

FarFromAnyRoad · 12/03/2015 10:08

If an assault has been committed have the Police been called? I'd expect that they would be. You see- all you people expostulating about how he can't be allowed to 'get away with it' - ffs! Get away with what? Nothing has been confirmed. There has been no prosecution. Would you stand for this howling for blood if it was almost anyone else on the planet? Of course not.
This post for example -
His latest escapade is like something that might happen at the creche!! He hit somebody because he didn't get what he wanted for his dinner
Do you really not see anything wrong with that?
Clarkson would have every right to start suing people for libel - and I'm sure MN has in the past cracked down on posts attributing guilt before any trial has taken place (in cases where at least one of the parties was still alive anyway!)
I think this is just wrong. Just because you don't like someone isn't a good enough reason to hang, draw and quarter them before you know anything at all about the case.

ghostyslovesheep · 12/03/2015 10:10

people mentioning employment rights - surely not being hit at work is a right Hmm

I signed it as a response to all the people supporting him - I wanted to be one of the people saying 'hang on a minute what about the man he hit?

You can't hit your 'minions' simply because they don't force a hotel to make you a hot meal FFS - it speaks volumes about him as a human being

NerrSnerr · 12/03/2015 10:12

His whole tv persona is an act. It sells so that's why he acts like an arse.

I just cannot get my knickers in a twist about it. It's probably a publicity stunt. I do wonder whether in 3 weeks they have a big stunt planned because with all this they know they'll get record ratings. Can't imagine he cares anyway. The bbc need him more than he needs them.

Rjae · 12/03/2015 10:15

The newspapers are also saying there was an alleged punch although clarkson is saying it was just a push. The police are not involved in every assault that occurs but that's up to the alleged victim and the employer.

I accept he can be very funny but there's often an 'edge' of sarcasm and contempt in it.

richthegreatcornholio · 12/03/2015 10:15

YABVU! The man's a legend!

richthegreatcornholio · 12/03/2015 10:16

And a major cash cow for the BBC for that matter. They'd be very brave to get rid!

ghostyslovesheep · 12/03/2015 10:17

The BBC don't need him -he would be easily replaced - I'd enjoy it more without him - I rather like James though

I dislike bullies - I dislike work place bullying and I don't think anyone should be allowed to get away with it

his colleagues may be down playing it as nothing but it obviously wasn't nothing to the other human being involved or to his employer

people should get away with bullying and aggression at work simply because they are populare

jelabi · 12/03/2015 10:18

Signed.

Meechimoo · 12/03/2015 10:20

I bet Clarkson is really really hurt and upset about this thread.
Or maybe not.
Grin

EponasWildDaughter · 12/03/2015 10:22

signed.

Keep TG and just replace JC.

the man doesn't need the money he gets and therefore has no need to behave. TG is just his hobby. He's an arrogant twat and simply doesn't give a toss.

ghostyslovesheep · 12/03/2015 10:25

It's not about hurting him - I think you are missing the point Grin Grin

Keep TG and just replace JC and this - I love TG but I hate listening to his pathetic attempts to be controversial Hmm

SoupDragon · 12/03/2015 10:46

I bet Clarkson is really really hurt and upset about this thread.

Personally I bet he would just have some kind of misogynistic rant about the little women needing to shut up and go back to singing nursery rhymes or something.

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon · 12/03/2015 10:49

I think it's all a publicity stunt.

Too much is being made of it. PM getting involved? Nah.

BringMeTea · 12/03/2015 10:51

Christ. I'll sign. He is an enormous bellend.
