Signed. Utter knob. Don't even watch Top Gear but he seeps out into all sorts of other areas - and he is an arrogant misogynistic racist little man who needs to be off air.

Vicarscat · 12/03/2015 11:00

They should use the shows he's already done - why throw money away like that? But if he did punch someone, he should be sacked.
And he should have been sacked a long time ago for all the other stuff he's done and got away with because he makes the BBC a lot of money.

Oh yes, and that number plate that insulted the Argentinians over the Falklands was just a pure coincidence, wasn't it? He makes a living out of offending people. Would make a good pair with Katie Hopkins.
And don't even get me started on his personal contribution to global warming.

pbwer · 12/03/2015 11:04

Congratulations . Its 4000 ish against half a million. Democracy burns doesn't it.

Meechimoo · 12/03/2015 11:08

but pwber according to mumsnet logic most people in the UK are thick as shit and that's why Jezza is so beloved Grin

ghostyslovesheep · 12/03/2015 11:10

fair enough pbwer I guess you think hitting work colleagues if an acceptable way to behave - which is nice :)

Honeybadger83 · 12/03/2015 11:14

He was on his last of many warnings, and he still refuses to behave like a decent human being. Or even just an adult. The arrogant meat-faced Neanderthal needs to learn he's not untouchable.
His popularity and the success of the show do not give him carte blanche to behave in a way that would be unacceptable to anyone else in the corporation.

pbwer · 12/03/2015 11:18

Yes and you are all blindly hating someone based on stuff that you have read in newspapers, rather than basing that on actual personal knowledge.

This thread reads like a witchhunt

Let's be honest. The BBC don't want to get rid of this man. He makes them a whole load of dosh.
He will probably make a grovelling apology to the producer involved and it will all be forgotten.
What annoys me the most is the fact that the prime minister has publicly supported JC. One cannot help but question DC's judgement.
The fact is that Jeremy Clarkson is an 'actor' Acting like a pompous twat is great for his ' I don't give a damn about all this PC crap' persona.

UsedtobeFeckless · 12/03/2015 11:41

I reckon it's all a stunt - his whole TV persona is based on being rude and obnoxious. This won't damage him at all, it'll just raise his bloody profile.

He's a rich, middle-aged, white Tory twat. He's about as far from edgy outsider threatening the status quo as it's possible to be!

Vicarscat · 12/03/2015 11:45

Is it a witch hunt when he's got away with masses of bad behaviour already, was on a final warning, and punched a colleague at work? Also, he's not exactly powerless, is he, is pals with the PM who supports him on TV broadcast to the nation. So now if the BBC sack him (and it is inconceivable that any "normal" employee would survive this) they are pissing off the PM (can't have PM's sons getting upset, can we).
Must remember when I punch someone at work to tell my employer I'm a little bit sorry about some of what I did, and to remind them of what a great talent I am. That should do it.

Rjae · 12/03/2015 11:50

I would love to see Jeremy clarks on go head to head with Katie Hopkins Grin

I'm basing it on behaviour I've seen on "film".

LovelyBranches · 12/03/2015 12:12

Ghost, Of course not being hit at work is an employment right, but like it or not JC has employment rights too and there should be disciplinary action or an employment tribunal carried out in the correct way.

I dislike JC but I don't want the court of public opinion to decide on his employment status as that sets an uncomfortable precedent.

Vicarscat · 12/03/2015 12:36

Of course there should be an investigation and a disciplinary hearing. Punching someone, without the most extreme provocation, is about the clearest form of gross misconduct you can think of. Not to dismiss someone for this would be utterly out of the ordinary and would send the very clear message that if you earn the organisation enough money, and/or are friends of the PM, the rules simply do not apply to you. JC's already been fed that message for a long time. Presumably that's why he went ahead and punched someone, when someone less spoilt, arrogant, entitled would have held back.
Unfortunately, it's commonly the case that if you are senior / earn enough money for the business / have certain contacts you get away with things. The BBC will come across very badly if they do this in the public eye though.

MsPoodleLover · 12/03/2015 12:39

Signed.

londonrach, why is it acceptable for anyone, let alone a 50 odd year old to use violence, the N word etc. It makes me sick. I have always taught my now grown up son (21) violence solves nothing and to sort problems out without using violence - he has managed it so far.

Those complaining about the professionally offended (Ohthehuge), are you just scared to say that you want to be allowed to be offensive bigots? Because that's what it means when you say you don't like the professionally offended. You see, I don't like it when people call my beautiful and intelligent daughter a spaz. She is a spaz, in technical terms, she is allowed to use that word to describe herself, but arses like Clarkson, whom you support think it's acceptable to use the word to describe actions, usually actions of people they thing aren't particularly clever. My dd is an extremely high achiever. I don't like her being called Paki either, apart from the fact we're of Spanish descent, the term is being used in an offensive and often derogatory manner. Please explain why you would support this sort of behaviour?

SunnyBaudelaire · 12/03/2015 13:09

oh not the 'professionally offended' again?
I would worry more about the 'professionally ignorant' dawndonna, really.

richthegreatcornholio · 12/03/2015 13:12

And don't even get me started on his personal contribution to global warming.

He's a man after my own heart.

YellowTulips · 12/03/2015 13:24

Is is not actually offensive or anti-PC to demand someone be sacked prior to the conclusion of an official investigation?
