AIBU to think MN should ban grammar and spelling pedantry on all forums except the one explicitly for this purpose.
It is so F*cking tedious!

It is bad manners to openly correct someone's grammar, & if it's on a thread about something serious then it's also extremely insensitive.

However - describing people who correct grammar as 'twats' 'oafs' & 'ill mannered dumb fucks' is a bit like taking a sledge hammer to crack a nut.

Yes, correcting grammar is, in the main, rude & unnecessary, but I'd just leave it at that.

I'm starting to sense a bit of "my lady doth protest too much" tbh.

Confused: As you keep telling everyone how kind you are, and how not kind everyone else on this mythical anti-grammar bandwagon is; could you just clarify for us what you meant by your (IIRC) first post on this thread, which went something like this:

"should of can't be ignored".

Because I may have misunderstood, or you may be backtracking like a very fast backtracker but I kind of thought that there, in that very clear and succinct little sentence, you were approving of, let's call them The Other Bandwagon shall we? You know, the people on the Boots Baby thread.....and their ilk.

I'm sure you'll come up with a very plausible other meaning though, you little minx.

Pagwatch · 19/02/2015 09:57

But ill mannered dumb fucks is more accurate. I'm all about accuracy.

Golly.
Your moral compass is so random that you would start piling in on unrelated threads because I think doing so makes one a twat?

That's a bit worrying isn't it? You genuinely would attack a poster in the future because of the response you have had on this thread?

Isn't that just potentially adding incredibly childish to twat?

Lulu You seem to be defending a certain type of behaviour on threads. But when posters turn the tables on you to demonstrate how annoying and upsetting it is when you're on the receiving end, you stamp your feet and tell everyone they're nasty.

Yes, it is upsetting and belittling and annoying to have errors in your posts pointed out to you, as opposed to people actually concentrating on the substance of what is being said. Now that you have experienced it first hand, do you still believe that it's okay to come onto a thread and start nit picking over spelling and grammar in other people's posts.
And no, I'm not saying that you do that personally, but you seem to be supporting the right of other posters to do it.

Poor OP though. She posts because she's feeling down and exhausted and gets a couple of absolute bellends telling her she is BU to use 'of' instead of 'have'. Angry.
Glad somebody posted them a link to this thread.
