AIBU to think MN should ban grammar and spelling pedantry on all forums except the one explicitly for this purpose.
It is so F*cking tedious!

Yanbu - it is not meant nicely and I bet they wouldn't do it to another adult in real life (unless in the position of a proof reader or teacher).

Mintyy · 18/02/2015 19:52

ConfusedinBath

Are there any people on this thread who don't know that it is "should have" not "should of"?

Who are you talking to?

Anyone who can't understand a thread because of minor poor grammar has to be a bit thick really.
Yes-it is rude to keep correcting people.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 21:14

macsmurray the part I can read on that "blinds" link relates to the safety standards of blind cords to prevent strangulation injury.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 18/02/2015 21:28

You will of recently been informed.... this is what it says on macsmurray 's letter Amanda

Bakeoffcake · 18/02/2015 21:30

ConfusedInBath "Funnily enough when I see should of ( especially in the title ) I often think it's just some goady sod"

Why would you assume that? Confused

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 21:30

I know.
Whats your point?

The80sweregreat · 18/02/2015 21:31

I haven't got a point but I presume macsmurrays point was that they wrote "of" instead of "have" who cares

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 21:37

I see.
Yes I got that. i saw that there was an error.
But I stated upthread that I thought it would be twunty to overlook an important safety message for the sake of a small grammatical error amd then was told that it wasnt a safety message.
So I was rreiterating that all I could see was the safety messsage.
However, I am now risking being pedantologocally irritating myself Grin

Bakeoffcake · 18/02/2015 21:38

Confused- so you assume everyone who posts on MN has been here a long time and has seen lots of threads about "of" and "have"

You need to start making less assumptions!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 21:38

I believe that TAATs are "frowned upon" because of the likelihood of troll hunting.
And as this isn't that sort of taat it's exempt.
Might that be the case?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 21:41

I assume that ppl say or write could/should of" instead of "could/should have" because that is what is might sound like if you say it like "could've"
When I was a kid i used to think it was "of"

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 21:42

bakeoff fewer assumptions Wink
