Booing God Save Our Gracious Queen

I've sung Gwlad, Gwlad, etc in Welsh, (easier to sing yn Gymreig than write, [is that mutation correct?]), but was disgusted to hear the boos for God Save the Queen.
I love Wales & feel really proud to have my Mynediad Welsh certificate, but this hatred of the British national anthem. Really? Is it necessary?

how funny that a woman has to ask another to bring a cup of tea. How patronishing is that Grin

100sanemum · 06/02/2015 21:48

It's a rugby match not a mumsnet tea party

Tinks42 · 06/02/2015 21:50

Id suggest that you became a bit more supportive of womens sports then maybe I would have that "cup" of tea with you.

FightOrFlight · 06/02/2015 21:50

Fuck it! Sad

FrancesNiadova · 06/02/2015 21:50

The welsh anthem makes me cry. Reminds me of my Dad.

nannynome · 06/02/2015 21:51

How do you know she isn't supportive of women's sports? Sod it, now we are done for :( work is going to be pants on Monday, blithering yorkshire men telling me all about how we were beaten... Sigh, I am going to bed to watch something else! Night all.

FightOrFlight · 06/02/2015 21:51

I'd suggest you fuck off and let us enjoy whatever sport we like.

DisappointedOne · 06/02/2015 21:52

The Welsh anthem is beautiful. Gorgeous melody, opportunity for harmonies and even if you don't speak Welsh the passion of the lyrics is fabulous.

I'm with Billy Connolly - they should just adopt the theme to The Archers and be done.

FrancesNiadova · 06/02/2015 21:53

No try, penalty to the Gymru weeping now

Lots of cheering coming from the front room, we must be on our way back.

nannynome · 06/02/2015 21:53

Aargh I can't cope, I thought it was all over but it isn't. I am all of a doodah!

crazypenguin · 06/02/2015 21:54

The England ladies kicked bottom this year! They showed the boys how it should be done! Grin

PolaDeVeboise · 06/02/2015 21:54

Tinks you're obviously new around these parts - you can't change the gist of a thread to suit your agenda. Start your own.

Tinks42 · 06/02/2015 21:56

I'd suggest that conditioning is well and truly alive.

God bless the queen Grin

TidyDancer · 06/02/2015 21:56

Nah, still not keen on it. Nice that you're passionate about it DisappointedOne, but it's not for me. I don't have a strong allegiance being both Welsh and English (and German Confused) and don't really like GSTQ either. Prefer LOHAG to both.

nannynome · 06/02/2015 21:56

Arrrrgghhh

crazypenguin · 06/02/2015 21:57

I'm all of a doodah too nannynome! ! Aarrrrgghhhh!! Eeeeeeeepppppppp!

FightOrFlight · 06/02/2015 21:58

Tinks42 · 06/02/2015 21:58

nannynome · 06/02/2015 21:59

Meh. Epic piles of pants. Night all. Good game though even if it went wrong.

chachaboom · 06/02/2015 22:00

Ah bollocks. well played England, good luck with the rest of it Wink Wine

lifelorn · 06/02/2015 22:00

Perhaps the booing of the National Anthem spurred them onto greater glory. Thank you the booers!!!

FrancesNiadova · 06/02/2015 22:01
