The attack on Charlie Hebdo.
Shall we have 3 guesses who's responsible?

Waitrose apparently, apart from some lamb. And I suppose you could ask if it's an independent butcher.

Where can you buy non-halal meat

www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/10816716/Find-out-which-supermarkets-and-restaurants-sell-halal-meat.html

Lists where halal meat is sold and if it's labelled.

You could also buy from a butcher and ask if the meat is halal.

And what about places like schools where all dinners are halal in case a Muslim eats there?

Like I said. I doubt it has to do with if 'a Muslim eats there' but rather because the meat is cheaper.

Schools should also be required to inform the parents if they are providing halal meat.

IMO the issue is lack of information so people can make an informed decision. Making it all halal or all non-halal doesn't solve anything if people aren't informed.

If The Telegraph list is accurate then no difficulty for the customers of Fortnum & Mason, M&S and Waitrose customers just need to avoid New Zealand lamb but it gets more complicated for Morrisons and Tesco customers.

I'm sure this must be telling us something about social attitudes and demographics, just not sure what.

My problem with Halal meat, is the way of killing, but it has been discussed to death, but also the fact that companies have to pay an imam to come pray on the meat. A friend of mine worked in the food industry, and she considered it like a racket.
I refuse to participate to the wages of a guy whose beliefs I dislike.

Not likely many of us shop at Fortnum's, but you can't be against Halal on cruelty grounds but then contribute to the profits of a company who continue to sell Foie Gras, produced as it is in the most barbaric way.

Same goes for those buying Heston's range in Waitrose. He's just dumped this supplier but will continue to serve it from elsewhere.

Aaahhhhh, fois gras :)

Food of the Gods, and you actually can find productions without force-feeding, if you object to it!
