Massey is caught up in the psychology of sunk cost. He's ploughed a heck of a lot of money into his dd and her rapist bf already - had done so before the
rapist Ched Evans had been convicted - and he is now in the process of throwing good money after bad in order to justify his crap decisions on the matter so far; he is attempting the impossible, to prove to himself that his spending decisions were right all along. Of course, the more money he throws at the problem, the more money he is forced to throw at it in order to justify the spending of such large (and ever-increasing) amounts.
Wouldn't it be kinder to Massey, assuming he is found to have been in contempt over the website, if he were to be fined so stringently and aggressively that he was reduced to poverty? It would get him off the awful hamster-wheel he's got himself onto.
And wouldn't it be great if the real victim in all this were to receive all that money in compensation?
That's two rights making the world a better place for everyone involved, not forgetting the enhancement of football by the absence of the rapist Ched Evans and his ridiculous fil from it. Win-win!
