To ask you all to sign petition regarding Oldham and Ched Evans

Actually I don't believe I am being unreasonable. But wanted to bring it to attention.

MN seems to be a quiet on this today but I think the fight should still go on. I can't link to it as I am so not tech savvy enough but it is on change.org. (Same person whk set up the Sheffield Weds one so of you sogned that one it is pretty easy to locate).Already has over 9000 signatures so please please please continue to sign and share!

Minnie, she claimed nothing of the sort. She woke up with no memory of the night, in a strange bed, having wet herself and with her handbag missing.

The rapist Ched Evans received a text from McDonald about having "got a bird" - without knowing anything about the woman, he turned his taxi round, tricked hotel reception into giving him an extra key, let himself into the room where, at best, a woman who was a complete stranger to him was in a vulnerable position as she was already unclothed, fully it partially, and having sex with his friend. The brother and friends of Evans further imposed upon the woman by watching (unknown to her) and trying to film it.

Evans then sneaked out of the fire escape. McDonald then went out past reception, asking staff to keep an eye out for the woman as she was in a bad way, or similar, indicating his knowledge about her level of drunkeness.

"Cry rape" is simply and totally incorrect.

No I didn't say I knew better, I said I don't think it was rape but the jury did and now he's served his time (or is serving his time) so that's that! He wants to work, and i don't think he should be stopped
Just sharing my opinion same as everyone else

And the failed appeal. Let's not forget this had a legal going over.

Of course people can think what they like about any case ever. But I'm going with the CPS, the jury, the judge, and the second judge until I hear otherwise.

Not the 'oh I don't believe raping a drunk woman is real rape' brigade (who are wrong) or the 'but we luffs Ched' brigade (who need new hobbies).

Yonic obviously not no, I think if there's a possibility you could do it again in your profession ie a doctor or you work with children or vulnerable people then absolutely not
But I don't see the harm in him kicking a ball round a field?

Difference is though MM1, the other opinion is based on cited and 'proven' fact, thrashed out and defended in a court room, and in an Appeals process. You're opinion seems to be based on belief and a heavy dose of victim-blaming and rape myth.

Even if, even if Ched Evans just said something along the lines of 'I absolutely maintain my innocence, but i categorically do not condone the constant harrassment of the complainant in my case, and I would ask everyone to now refrain from naming her and harassing her'....

Then maybe, just maybe, I might think that him and his family perhaps weren't total scum of the earth cunts of the highest order.

"I wouldn't call it rape". Minnie are you aware of the legal definition of rape. Re consent, a victim has to have the freedom and capacity to consent. Being so drunk you are virtually unconscious means you do not have the capacity to give consent. That is the LEGAL definition, which is what counts, not yours.

Yes I've reported and will disengage with Mrs Goady-rape-apologist. I will engage with rational discussions if anyone else would like to contribute a rational argument against the petition.

No one in the case has EVER suggested she knew about the filming, Minnie. It takes something to be even more of a rape apologist than Ched's own site.
