We have a "gross" toilet and everyone refuses to use it

So how does it end up in such a state??

We have 3 bogs in our house - one downstairs, one en-suite and the main bathroom. The main bathroom was decorated when we first moved in to a "nautical" scene - pastel blue, sea shell canvas, blue stripey bath mats a seagull and fishing boat ornament on the window ledge.

I loved it.

A year later the carpet is stained with god knows what, the bathmats are stained and stink (no matter how often I wash them), the walls are sprayed with piss and the toilet is full of shit stains and just reeks. No matter how often I bleach and scrub it it ALWAYS looks like this within an hour of cleaning.

Now, DP refuses to use the "shit hole room" and so do the kids. So if nobody uses it - how the fuck is it in such a state????? It's ridiculous. The whole rooms stinks like a blokes pub toilet.

Rip it out, tile the floor and get a new toilet and sink.

It wouldn't smell of you cleaned it properly. If you can't get the smell out of the Mats throw them out ffs

Get rid of the bath mats. Get some vinegar and baking soda. Kill that shit off. Get a lock on the door and keep at as a bathroom just for you.

Well it's easy to tart it up, scrub the walls with biological washing detergent and water mix, dye/replace the bathmat and toilet surround thing, and put some toilet cleaner down and elbow grease....

It is pee in the carpets. Pull them up and throw them and then get washable flooring.

Carpets should be outlawed in bathrooms. How can they be cleaned?! They can't.
Likewise bath mats. What are they for?! Germ magnets and bacteria hoarders. Burn them and if you can tile the floor, or put Lino down, then do it.
Tile behind the toilet so it can be wiped.

Carpet? Yuck! And piss up the walls?! Maybe it is time to put down Lino and get a bog block? Or nail the door shut!

Point out to DP and any boys that they are the most likely culprits when it comes to pee on the carpets and walls. Put ping pong balls in the toilet bowl and encourage them to aim at the balls. Teach them how to clean skid marks in the loo before they stain.

Get rid of the carpets for a start. If your men/boy folk are pissing up the walls, then it's a guarantee that they are also doing the same on the floor.

Shit stains are caused by the shitters not cleaning up their skid marks.

But I wonder if your toilets are lined with hardened limescale, because that will cause brown staining from wee. We live in a very hard water area and this is a real problem.

Get whoever is pissing everywhere to scrub it. Theres no excuse, it's grim. I would make them lick it clean, they are not animals

Eewww shouldn't have any sort of Carpet/bath mat in a Loo or Bathroom. Rip it all out n tile it or Laminate/Lino the floor.

Self fulfilling prophecy now I'm afraid. It's now the only place they'll go for a shit because it's the shit toilet.

Redo the toilet, flooring and get new mats. A fresh start will mean any new indiscretions will be more noticeable.

Plus chucking bleach down weekly isn't enough. I have one boy and he sprays everywhere so I need to scrub daily.

Put all the other bathrooms out of use until someone else cleans it. They'll soon learn how to. How is their piss up the walls? I have 3 men in the house and none of my bathroom have shit stains or piss up the walls . They never had piss up the walls or shit stains in them either when they were growing up.
