Really unsure if this is a bad idea so opinions please.

Baby 18 months sound asleep with monitor on and working. DH next door quaffing mulled wine and I plan to join him...... Maybe.

Is this ok?

No

ApocalypseThen · 12/12/2014 20:37

I don't know. I don't think I'd do it, I wouldn't be able to relax.

Notsuretoday · 12/12/2014 20:38

Sorry posted too soon. I would worry and couldn't relax, sorry

Highlandbird · 12/12/2014 20:38

You will now get millions of people telling you YABU, I have a DS same age (not PFB I might add!) and I wouldn't do it, take it in turns with your DH instead?

HamPortCourt · 12/12/2014 20:38

No it is not oK.

What if there is a fire? What if they have music on and something happens and you don't hear it.

Tell DH to come home and you can quaff wine together.

SocialMediaAddict · 12/12/2014 20:38

Nope I'm really relaxed and wouldn't dream of doing that.

loudarts · 12/12/2014 20:39

I wouldn't do it

cestlavielife · 12/12/2014 20:39

STick him sleeping in his buggy and take him with u.

juneybean · 12/12/2014 20:39

In the real world its absolutely fine.

JaneFonda · 12/12/2014 20:39

I would go.

HumblePieMonster · 12/12/2014 20:39

No, do not do it. You don't leave your baby alone in the house.

Chottie · 12/12/2014 20:39

No, it is not. The fact that you have posted on MN shows you have doubts about doing this.

Please don't, put your child first. Can't you and DH take turns?

cestlavielife · 12/12/2014 20:39

Or invite the neighbours to you

museumum · 12/12/2014 20:40

Video monitor? Small terrace or big house?

calzone · 12/12/2014 20:40

Yes. Definitely. Do it.

arethereanyleftatall · 12/12/2014 20:42

No.

PatButchersLostEaring · 12/12/2014 20:42

Not a Video and small flats ( same building). All the same the majority rule and I think taking turns it is.

OP posts:
wigglybeezer · 12/12/2014 20:43

I did it once, I reckoned it wasn't any worse than sitting in the garden but I didn't make a habit of it.

WandaDoff · 12/12/2014 20:43

I've done it, but I was literally the other side of the wall in a terraced house and could be back in seconds.

Do you think it would be ok?
How far away will you actually be?

coniferssilhouette · 12/12/2014 20:45

I wouldn't, I agree with others about taking turns

ithoughtofitfirst · 12/12/2014 20:46

Yeah I'm sure it would be fine but prob best to take turns.

LaurieMarlow · 12/12/2014 20:46

No, I'm not an overly conscientious mum by any means but I would never leave a baby alone. What if there's a fire?

Get DH to haul his arse back home so you can relax and quaff wine together. Or else tag team.

Mrsmorton · 12/12/2014 20:47

I'd do it.

specialsubject · 12/12/2014 20:48

take turns or take child with you.

sorry, that's what you signed up to when you stopped the condoms!

Viviennemary · 12/12/2014 20:48

Of course it isn't OK. You will be leaving your child at home alone. You will be a in a different house. Absolutely not OK in any way.
