Sick of arguing with DH over this ( school related)

ds aged 8 teacher uses an e-cig in class.

Not only have my son noticed but many other children. I pick a few up from school due to parents working and not having enough time to get from work to the school so just wait on the yard.

From my point of view is that I am a smoker, ds sees me smoking ( I always go outside)

Dh doesn't want the teacher using an e-cig in school.

But e-cigs only emit steam, so it's not damaging the DC heath.

So I will hand it over to MN. Should DH complain or not.

Am surprised it is allowed as they are banned in quite a few places.
Don't think I would be happy to be honest.

Biscuit All council properties are smoke free. We had a note to say e-cigs were not acceptable.
TheBuskersDog · 02/12/2014 23:38

If this is true then it is totally inappropriate, I'd be straight to the head about it.

LadyLuck10 · 02/12/2014 23:39

Yabu and you are a parent tooConfused
No way would I be accepting of this. It's not about health only, I would not want someone normalising this habit.

Ds would not lie about this.

I promise you this isn't a wind up, I just feel how can I complain about the teacher using an e-cig when I'm a smoker myself.

Really?? I find this very hard to believe and even harder to believe you're not sure if it's ok...

MarchEliza · 02/12/2014 23:44

Do you drink alcohol? Would it be ok for the teacher to drink booze in class? I don't see how you as a smoker is relevant to this.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 02/12/2014 23:46

Ds says the teacher charges it up in the computer.

Ds don't lie. Even if he did then it would be a highly unlikely serveral
Children are all saying the same.

The teacher try's to do it discretely.

Ho ho ho.....

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 02/12/2014 23:49

Does she actually vape in front of them or just charge it and they know what it is?

However either shouldn't happen

I would let him complain if he wants

LadyLuck10 · 02/12/2014 23:49

The way you have rationalized this is shocking.

His teacher is amazing, she has done so much for him and goes out of her way to get Ds all the help and support he needs.

I don't want her to get into trouble.

OP posts:
sykadelic · 03/12/2014 03:50

If the teacher is doing something that's totally fine then she won't get into trouble. She is doing something wrong and she's an influence on your child... you really think "well she's a good person so it's okay if she's doing something she shouldn't" is a good example???

Report her. Or tell her you know and that it's the talk of the play ground and she should stop so she doesn't get into trouble because you think she's amazing and wouldn't want this to blemish her record.

Horrible decision making on her part.

How can there be an atom of your being that in unsure if this is ok?

She shouldn't swear, drink wine or talk about her sex life either.

Archduke · 03/12/2014 05:55

God, why do you even have to ask. That is completely inappropriate in the classroom. If it's actually happening

NB I saw my dd's teacher wearing jeans yesterday and I thought that was out of order.

isitsnowingyet · 03/12/2014 06:00

Ha ha - brilliant thread. Grin so funny

some days I think Mumsnet is totally worth it just for the laughs.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 03/12/2014 06:11

Why would I make it up.

If it was dd told me this I would think the same as every poster on this thread.

But Ds don't lie
