To not iron?!

I don't iron, never have done, don't see the point, I look well presented and not creased! I forget that people actually iron until someone mentions it and I get some very surprised responses from people when I tell them I don't even own an iron, telling me they iron underwear, towels etc. Please tell me I am not the only one?!

I try to iron as little as possible.
The only thing we iron in our house are DH's shirts. He only likes pure cotton ones and they really do need ironing, disappointingly!

I never iron either although I do own an iron! My clothes are either hung or rolled in drawers, wouldn't dream of ironing my 2 toddlers' clothes and dh will only iron the half dozen times a year he wears a shirt! Life is too short to iron pants!

YANBU. We have an iron but it's still in the box. DH has been getting his shirts ironed by the same lady for about 10 years. If there is something I really need done I sneak it in there although disturbingly I have been looking at 1yo DDs clothes lately and thinking they are very creased, and thinking maybe I should get the iron out! Tell me I WBVU to start ironing now!

Absolutely not, ironing must surely be the biggest waste of time...not that I'd know, don't own one! My children are beautifully presented, my husband less so but he has a manual job so doesn't need shirts ironed.

The only time I felt a teeny tiny bit guilty was when my DD picked up a toy iron and asked 'what does this do mummy'

Life is too short for ironing. If we go to a wedding then DH will do his shirt and I'll do whatever Im wearing.

Glad to know there are other non-ironers out there! I agree that life is too short to iron pants! Some people iron socks too apparently !?

Banana don't do it! Not many kids clothes need ironing just hang well to dry...anyway an iron would be a terrible health hazard for a one year old toddling about ;-)

YANBU I used to spend hours ironing but life is too short. DP led a very long bachelor life before we got together and introduced me to the concept that the laundrette does ironing (I thought it only did washing machines/tumble driers, dry cleaning and duvets). My DM is horrified but I have a lot more spare time now! Only things that get ironed are some work clothes of mine that dry with creases and DP's shirts.

YANBU. I don't iron. I hate ironing and I'm terrible at it. DH is responsible for his own shirts. Nothing else gets done unless it's absolutely essential. (Fortunately school shirts are non-iron, so I just hang them up out of the washer!)

I never iron - my husband has a lovely lady who irons his work shirts. He'll occasionally iron something at home - I don't -ever.

YANBU, but how do you do it?? I'd truly love to know because I know there's loads of people out there that don't iron, and I very rarely notice anyone looking creased and as if they should have ironed, but how does this happen?

I tumble and hang as much as possible, but the ds's school shirts and trousers need to be done, despite me buying non iron shirts, and so do some of our tshirts and trousers.

When I'm shopping find myself choosing my own wardrobe based on non ironing convenience. It's very sad.

I don't iron. I don't wear blouses, DP doesn't wear shirts to work and everything I own straightens itself out in the tumble drier or on the clothes horse. I never look untidy and people are surprised when I say that I don't even own and iron or ironing board.

I have hardly used an iron for the past 30 years! (Certainly not on any of my MY clothes.)

DH's work shirts/trousers can sometimes need a very quick iron. (So he occasionally asks me to do that for him.) But he's not very fussy, and he often goes to work in casuals, which can be polo shirts, chinos etc. And usually his work clothes are passable, (without ironing), as long if I put them on hangers to dry. (Nb We never use a tumble drier unless it's a real emergency!)

IMO, ironing is not only a big waste of time but also a big waste of money. And if anyone criticises my no-ironing policy, I can inform them that "ironing is a crime against the environment".

Imagine if power was strictly rationed/very expensive: would ironing be a high priority/essential to life as we know it? So why do we bother? (I rest my case! )

I give everything to a laundry service. The best thing is having nicely ironed bed linen. I don't mind ironing if I have the time but I need to have clothes ironed. I just feel scruffy if I don't and always notice it on other people.

Never ironed a thing, I think though that this might have come down from my mum who pays someone to iron for her..

I only iron DS's school uniform and very occasionally some of my clothes at the same time. Other than that my clothes seem to straighten themselves out when I'm wearing them and hopefully don't look too creased.

Well YANBU but I admit I don't know how people can get away with ironing NOTHING.

I iron as little as possible but still need to iron my uniform, the DDs school shirts, jeans and most tops, T-shirts etc. If I get stuff straight out of the tumbler I can get away with folding and hanging, but not if it's been line dried or hung on an airer.

Mind you we also have very hard water here, so things often dry quite crispy and ironing softens them up a bit.

Only if I have like a jacket that would look awful unironed - pockets all raggedy etc.

I iron but I hate it. I do iron DS (who's one) clothes as they look scruffy, my blouses and sometimes the pillowcase but never duvet.

I teach, so I couldn't go to work in clothes that are creased.

Recently dh does all of his as I just don't have the patience for over an hours ironing at a time as work full time and heavily pregnant.

I am going to continue to just leave him at it in future.

I never iron and nothing we have seems to crease. Shirts and sheets I can put in dryer which gets rid of any creases but they are crease free just from hanging on the line.

I buy all school shirts from M&S as they are always crease free and never need ironing. Money well spent IMO.

I have caught my exmil ironing the baby's vests in the past you don't even see them! Saying that, she is rather anal about, erm, everything really.

Exh was taken aback when I told him I wouldn't be ironing all his clothes for him, he was used to him mum ironing his pants ffs He was soon told he could either do it himself or get his mum to do it as I certainly wasn't going to.

All my clothes are stretchy so I see no need to iron them, and dh doesn't care about his either. As a chef he sees no need to iron his work stuff that is going to be covered in food by the end of the day anyway, and it comes out of the dryer crease free anyway.

I definitely wouldn't be ironing the dcs clothes, seems daft and again none of it is that creased anyway.

I do own an iron and an ironing board as exmil gave it to me as a wedding gift, assuming that I would then take over where she left off
