behaving like a spoiled 12 year old who is at someone else's party

god help her

differentnameforthis · 30/10/2014 02:16

Someone else's party? So baby not his then?

Because as long as she is OK with it, he has every right to celebrate the impending birth of his child how they see fit.

Inboxer · 30/10/2014 08:31

Well they've called it Charlton Valentine Williams! Congratulations to both of them - we may be divided on your suitability as a doula Robbie but am sure all mumsnetters will wish you lots of happiness with your new little boy!!

I actually found it all very funny! And she was clearly participating in the humour...labour doesn't have to be all doom and gloom and pain and privacy you know! Everyone is different. My DH is a bit of a joker and kept me entertained and laughing throughout my labours

plinkyplonks · 30/10/2014 09:14

Lots of nasty comments comments here - oh dear!

The last video says they were joking. She wanted this and it was done they said to help her cope with the pain. They seem very happy. I thought they were funny.

The overall impression I'm left with from this thread is that women are allowed to cope with birth and labour only in ways others think they should and not behave any other way. Ayda Field has her own career before and after her marriage. It's quite insulting to assume that she is just this vulnerable woman who is being completly manipulated by her husband. I actually find all the people here who assume that to be far more patronising to her than her husband is being. She joined in the videos and consented. If you don't share their sense of humour don't watch them.

BloodyDogHairs · 30/10/2014 10:57

The 1st video I watched was the one of him singing and I thought was a total tube! but having watched the rest....her twerking, the birth announcement and now the one of her pushing the wheelchair I can see she has a good sense of humour and they probably had it planned for months.

I can actually see this being the new trend.

Itsfab · 30/10/2014 17:22

It? Hmm

The baby is a boy.

CariadsDarling · 30/10/2014 17:32

I've always been a fan of his and wanted to one day go to a concert, and by chance his Middle East Concert date was announced today. I won't be going because of how much of an idiot he's come across as over the last few days. Even one of the midwives in one of the clips was an embarrassment but given the circumstances she probably didn't know how else to react to it all.

I doubt Robbie will miss me in April, and I wish him and his family good health and happiness.

stayathomedad · 30/10/2014 21:28

Vertical video alert !!

PacificWerewolf · 30/10/2014 21:32

I agree, the sequence of clips makes it all look much more like good fun and a mutual enterprise - the first one and most published one (it was shown on fecking BBC morning news ffs) in isolation made Robbie look rather twunty.

Still have a soft spot for him…

I rather like little Charlton's name too.
Thanks

BloodyDogHairs · 30/10/2014 22:23

by "it" I meant the utube videos

Itsfab · 31/10/2014 08:17

Cross posted BloodyDogHairs. I was Hmm at the OP calling the baby "it."

ZanyMobster · 31/10/2014 09:48

She was completely in on it, she even joined in with a message to everyone after it was all over.

I actually can't stand him but in context it wasn't as bad as the news tried to make it.

porgie80 · 02/11/2014 13:07

There are youtube vloggers who do this all the time- namely the "Shaytards". The birth of their son last year has video views of over 5 million.

Good publicity stunt though Robbie. Just like that music video of him talking on chatroulette.
