Aibu?

Had guests to stay last night. It gets mentions casually the next day that he sleeps naked, I laugh and say something along the lines of "only in your own bed I bloody hope!"
..at which point he gets a bit embarrassed and she says "he can't stand wearing pj's!"

We swiftly move on and I mourn the innocence of my pretty sanderson sheets.

Aibu to think you should at least wear undies when sleeping in someone else's home?

Or am I being a prude?

It's usual for men to sleep naked. Some women do but most feel the cold more than men.

Bowlersarm · 26/10/2014 16:01

Yep sorry OP very prudish.

You shouldn't be judgemental if your guests sleep naked in your bed, or indeed have sex in your (guest) bed.

In fact, you've failed in your duty as relaxed lovely hostess if your guests haven't done at least one of the above.

I always sleep naked wherever I am and whatever the weather. I find clothes awfully uncomfortable in bed. I move about a fair bit and ain't a fan of pants crawling up my arse.

And I never ever wear knickers. Why on earth would I need to???

LosingAllTheLego · 26/10/2014 16:03

I think I've obviously missed something here, but why would I need to wear underwear in bed because I'm on my period??

AimlesslyPurposeful · 26/10/2014 16:04

I wouldn't have a problem with a guest sleeping naked.

The sheets would be washed anyway so what difference does it make?

Jolleigh · 26/10/2014 16:04

J cups here. Never worn a stitch to bed, time of the month or not, staying as a guest or not. I saw an article the other day about how naked sleepers get less thrush due to better air flow.

Bowlersarm · 26/10/2014 16:05

Ah hem, Lego don't you have menstruation leakages? You're very lucky if you don't.

SirChenjin · 26/10/2014 16:06

Period leakage? Something to attach pads to if you use them? If you don't ever have to worry about leaking then lucky you!

londonrach · 26/10/2014 16:06

Yabu but i understand. I wear pants under pjs. Anything else feels strange but thats me. I cant sleep without the pants, pjs etc. my dsis knows one of her friends children was conceived in my dsis spare bed. Now thats tmi! Just wash the sheets and dont think about it...

mausmaus · 26/10/2014 16:07

prude
haven't you got a washing mashine?

slimytoad · 26/10/2014 16:10

Naked sleeper here

OwlWearingSunglasses · 26/10/2014 16:11

I usually wear undies in someone else's bed or in hotels for example.
At home I generally just wear socks apart from the few days in summer when it's hot enough to go without.

And going knickerless during my period? Um... no. I don't take the risk of leaking.

fourwoodenchairs · 26/10/2014 16:11

You're being unreasonable.

ChillingGrinBloodLover · 26/10/2014 16:13

You just have to love MN Grin

chasingtheegg · 26/10/2014 16:14

To the posters questioning the cleanliness of my sheets, since you've clearly not read TFT, I'll say again. Bedding is fresh on for guests and washed straight after.

No it doesn't affect me- it's a simple question, wibu to be surprised that they slept naked, the resounding answer is Yes. Which I'm perfectly happy to hear, it's pure curiosity.

No need for anyone to feel bad, we're good friends and they were fed and waterd generously prior to sleeping in a really nice comfy bed! So I'd think my hostess skills aren't killed off just on account of not knowing this was the norm.

Thanks all for your input! Also impressed by the ladies who can get away with naked sleeping while on their period!

I sleep in cotton massive pants, I cant sleep naked incase a spider crawls up my vagina! I slept naked as a guest once, very drunk and went sleep walking into my dads bed. Hin and his wife were very surprised!

JustScreamNobHurts · 26/10/2014 16:14

Do you wake up in hotel rooms at 3am screaming as your subconscious mentally calculates how many naked bodies have been on the sheets before you? Grin

chasingtheegg · 26/10/2014 16:15

Owl- I love pj's but can't stand socks! Ha. Everyone's so different.

OwlWearingSunglasses · 26/10/2014 16:17

What if the hotel has a fire drill at 2am? Or, heaven forbid, a real fire?

Would you put on yesterdays undies or a new pair? Decisions, decisions.

OwlWearingSunglasses · 26/10/2014 16:18

chasing

...except if I've argued with OH then I wear the onesie just so there's no sleepy making up before I'm ready to let him apologise Wink

LosingAllTheLego · 26/10/2014 16:19

Eh? No I've never leaked on my period! They're as regular as anything, every 22 days mid afternoon they arrive and I use tampons so don't need anything to attach pads to.

Jolleigh · 26/10/2014 16:19

Nope, tampon to bed and never any leakage here. I didn't realise it was that common Hmm.

LosingAllTheLego · 26/10/2014 16:22

I lounge about in pjs and then take them off when I get in bed. So if there was a fire I'd just put them back on!

SirChenjin · 26/10/2014 16:22

Of course period leakage is common!
