Bra-less at my BBQ?

BioSuisse · 21/09/2014 09:59

Last night DH and i hosted a BBQ for newish friends whom we had never hosted before. DH invited a female colleague whom i had never met before. She turned up with her boyfriend but not her bra. She was wearing a thickish cotton white top. You could see the outline of her boobs and nipples if you looked.

After the party i mentioned it to DH. He claimed to not have noticed.

MN jury?

Zombie is bemused. She is a child of the 60s. For her a bra has always been an option, not a requirement.

She obviously no longer wears a bra now. Should she be concerned that her mastectomy scars might be visible through one of her t-shirts or blouses?

UptheChimney · 21/09/2014 13:51

So it's the feminists on this thread who are the judgemental ones?

Some seriously nasty trolling now.

BioSuisse · 21/09/2014 13:52

Appropriate language for someone who is shagging someone elses DH i think. Anyway report all you like, i have bigger problems to deal with right now

Is your DH shagging her? Shock

Annahmolly · 21/09/2014 13:54

YANBU, I think that's pretty weird. Sure, if you're on a hot date and you want the guy to be looking, fair enough. But a BBQ at your colleagues house? No. Context is everything.

UptheChimney · 21/09/2014 13:54

Flowers Zombie You wear whatever you like.

This thread is so, so depressing -- all these women colluding in the policing of other women's "modesty" or "decency" or "appropriateness".

It's nice for you all to feel you have the high ground of modesty/decency/appropiateness. Just be careful you never slip.

wildfig · 21/09/2014 13:55

Woah, Nelly! What happened there? Bit of a leap from 'my husband said he noticed her bralessness' to 'Actually, now I think about it, we had a quickie while the chops were defrosting...'

I did. You're now saying that your husband has just confessed to sleeping with this woman based on your first post about this woman's lack of bra. How were we supposed to know that?

I wouldn't be back here posting updates if it were me because as you say, you have stuff to deal with.

plinkyplonks · 21/09/2014 13:56

UptheChimney - Thanks for the concern, I will try not to 'slip' or whatever that means Confused. Will carry on my Sunday knowing I haven't been harassing and bullying fellow human being on anon message board. What a shame a lot of you can't say the same :)

Sallyingforth · 21/09/2014 13:56

There are laws against public nakedness
There are certainly not, in the UK at least. There are laws about public nuisance or offence, but as far as nudity is concerned it has to be taken in context. You won't be arrested for laying naked on a beach (I never have anyway!) but you might be for doing your shopping naked in Waitrose.

This thread is really depressing in the way that so many apparently intelligent, independent women accept so meekly and as a "social norm" a piece of clothing which seeks to shape them in ways that cover up, or disguise their bodies.
Yes yes yes yes!

I only own one bra, a soft unwired nude one that I have to wear if I'm going out in a particularly see-through top. Otherwise it stays in a drawer. I think it's a 34C or D, it's a long time since I bought it :)

Omg this thread!

noddyholder · 21/09/2014 13:59

Her lingerie choices are not to blame for his infidelity :0

Oh, she will, UptheChimney. She also doesn't wear a wig or scarf to cover her balding head. If anyone else is bothered by that, it's their problem, not hers.

limitedperiodonly · 21/09/2014 14:09

God this thread is moving fast. Is the brazen bra-less Russky shagging your hubby OP, or have I misunderstood?

When I was young and gorgeous I often wore no underwear at all.

noddyholder · 21/09/2014 14:09

Me too limited

papercliplover · 21/09/2014 14:10

If your notsoDH is shagging her, he is a skank. She is not a whore. Unless he paid her.

Tipsykisses · 21/09/2014 14:15

Oh op are you serious ???

Your husband is at it with her ???

If that is the case then maybe your instincts were heightened which is why you felt uncomfortable .

limitedperiodonly · 21/09/2014 14:17

It's a blessing that MN isn't on Skype noddyholder because I am bra-less atm. But I am wearing the most enormous pair of comfy-pants under my hubby's t-shirt and shorts.

It wouldn't surprise me if he sometimes wondered where the magic went and gazed longingly at jiggly Eastern European whores. But currently he's doing his VAT.

SauvignonBlanche · 21/09/2014 14:21

You said she was new to the company and "has just moved her from Moscow and doesn't know many people". Confused
