No gloating.
No blaming.

Just appreciation for a huge turnout and a peaceful process.

Salmond is gone.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 18:50

I really hope George Square doesn't kick off. That's the last thing we need.

I have no intention of working for "toffs to get richer".

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 18:52

I very much dislike the BBC's journalist using the word Loyalist to describe the group. What a loaded word and he bloody well knows it. This is not sectarian violence. It's rank stupidity.

Mrsjayy · 19/09/2014 18:52

Have any of you seen the petition s for a recount bloody daft

Annunziata · 19/09/2014 18:52

That's not much of an answer sweetie! They're all the same. At least sticking with that lot in London was going to protect the money.

DaughterDilemma · 19/09/2014 18:53

A COORDINATED UNIONIST CHARGE THEY HAD FLAGS HIDDEN IN THEIR POCKETS WHICH THEY PULLED OUT AS THEY CHARGED

In London we would call em Donuts.

SapphireMoon · 19/09/2014 18:53

Loyalists being blamed for 'starting it' on BBC News website/ a contributor to site.

Luckytwo · 19/09/2014 18:53

People on both sides need to remain calm. Nobody needs to be defensive about how they voted, and this is no time for stand offs in George square.
I'm surprised salmond resigned, I thought he was having a call with Cameron this morning - perhaps he can't work with what Cameron is proposing ?

Annunziata · 19/09/2014 18:53

Ah it's a disgrace mrsj. They're just sore losers.

Clarabum · 19/09/2014 18:54

it already has, a Loyalist crowd with Orange order ties. On BBC website now.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 19/09/2014 18:54

I am in Canada and am not Scottish but I really feel for the Scots today, both those from the yes and no camps.

My vote, had I been given it, would always have been no but only because I have such fond memories of the UK and the vast majority of them centre around Scotland and it's residents. I would hate to think of the UK without thinking of Scotland in the same thought.

That being said, I cannot begin to imagine how devastating it must be for those who where so strongly in favour of independance, how a glimpse of what could have been, only to have it taken away by such a small margin. My thoughts are with all of you. Flowers

Here here

SapphireMoon · 19/09/2014 18:55

Why are Orange Order doing this? What an earth is the point?

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 19/09/2014 18:55

What we desperately need are some capable big-hitters to negotiate on Scotland's behalf in the devo-max negotiations to come.

Gordon Brown
Alistair Darling
John Reid
whoever is leading the SNP
?Sir Ming - btw, where was he all this time?
?John Swinney

Clarabum · 19/09/2014 18:55

The Bbc have reported it as a co ordinated charge on from Loyalists Annunziata, not your regular no supporters and definitely not sore losers.

Clarabum · 19/09/2014 18:56

They are flags that say "No Surrender" is that not a Loyalist statement?

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 19/09/2014 18:57

last thing we need is trouble from numbskulls

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 18:57

I was always a No. As soon as I heard about the referendum. Because I thought independence was an awful idea. There are loads of reasons but that one mainly and that I see us all as one country. The BT campaign left me cold.

All I saw during the campaign hardened my resolve to vote no.

SapphireMoon · 19/09/2014 18:57

The Loyalists have signs saying "Scotland is British". I see a flag that says Springburn/Derry Union up on the railings.

Another flag says "Scotland is British, No surrender". There is lots of shouting of "this is our country".

Bloody hell...

Annunziata · 19/09/2014 18:57

I was talking about the petition for a recount.

Clarabum · 19/09/2014 18:57

It's a shame this has came to this as the OO don't represent the majority of voters either. ARGH!! folk are daft!

Mrsjayy · 19/09/2014 18:57

Aye Annusziata that poor woman being accused of rigging. Yeah it was loyalists in george square bloody neds

iismum · 19/09/2014 18:57

The riots in George Sq have nothing to do with Yes supporters. This is a protest against the Yes victory in Glasgow. Union flags everywhere, also offensive slogans and nazi salutes. You'd think since the own the actual referendum they could chill out on the violence and nationalism today.

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 19/09/2014 18:58

ah feck, hopefully and probably just a one-off stupid sectarian crowd.

really brainless - perhaps they don't realise they won

Clarabum · 19/09/2014 18:58

oh right, apologies. Grin
I don't believe there should be a recount. It was too big a win for No. There's also no way they could have rig it, as much as I would have liked a different outcome.
