I'm embarrassed to be Scottish.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 06:13

Moray has opted for:
THE UNITED KINGDOM.
YES - 27,232
NO - 36,935

squoosh · 19/09/2014 06:14

So Moray too.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 06:14

United we stand

I couldn't be happier Flowers

I am so pleased for ALL of us - but I am so relieved for all of the people who will now not lose their jobs, be forced to move, have their families torn apart, worry about their care or medical treatment or to have their nationality stripped from them against their will.

Thank you for voting NO and keeping our Union together.

xx

squoosh · 19/09/2014 06:15

Here he is!

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 06:16

Here comes Salmond

That's it then ...thank god. I can't believe how many tears I've shed over this.
And no crowing from me here either - only relief...
I feel sad that so many people are disappointed and unhappy.
I think for Scotland to get independence it would have to be less political ping pong, more honest discussion, clear facts and working together...
A massive thank you to SC for all your figure crunching.
And all the posters on here that made me feel less alone as a No...

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 06:16

Really interested to hear from Moray and Highlands, keen to see what the differences was, or indeed if it was a Yes from either. But really don't think I can stay awake, but your votes up there too were very important.

We vote No. Historic moment.

SDTG glad it is not just me and that you are feeling better. DH says he wants me back now and I don't blame him as I have been completely absorbed.

Really looking forward to the next round of debates and how to progress forward. I think it has thrown up some real challenges on how to re engage not just with politics but re engage people as part of the UK.

Life is going to get interesting now :)

Ah I had Huw on and was putting DD down. How disappointing to have missed Edinburgh. Huw missed it and then left it on Fife for ages with just a mic stand in view so he wouldn't miss any more! But I got to see that one at least.

Salmond is on. Time to depart. Night night ladies. Work in 3 hours for me Shock thank god it is a Friday.

sashh · 19/09/2014 06:16

Here's Salmond

Shenanagins · 19/09/2014 06:16

A tear in my eye when fife declared. It means that we can continue to live in the country we love.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2014 06:17

United we stand

Smile

I love the fact that we had so many neighbours throughout the UK wanting us to stay - that's the kind of street I want to live in.

binkybunny · 19/09/2014 06:17

Thanks for keeping me company tonight, have decided an hour or so sleep is actually needed.

RJnomore · 19/09/2014 06:18

Fuck he isn't going to drop it is he. "decided not at this stage". "a substantial vote for Scottish independence in the future"

SantanaLopez · 19/09/2014 06:18

Well I am very proud to live in Scotland and Britain.

Thank you to all MNers who have joined in in the past three years Flowers

SirChenjin · 19/09/2014 06:18

I can't bring myself to watch Alex Salmond spewing the usual guff and claptrap. Can someone summarise what he's saying please?

Jbck · 19/09/2014 06:18

I'm relieved too but hope that Westminster do follow through and realise that a No vote is not a vote for the status quo.
I have lurked for weeks and 'enjoyed' most of the debate but threads moved so quickly I never managed to keep up and post in relevant time.

Thank you all the posters who have informed and educated me.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 06:18

Where in Edinburgh is Salmond ?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/09/2014 06:19

Thanks for 1.6million for independence, way to alienate the rest of them, idiot.

squoosh · 19/09/2014 06:19

Basically he's not resigning.

dementedma · 19/09/2014 06:19

Stfu Salmond!

Brew. Thought you might need one.
What a great run of threads. I salute your commitment.

But i missed your position Blush. So are you pleased with the result?

flippinada · 19/09/2014 06:20

I'm feeling dsitinctly weepy and exhausted now, but glad I stayed up.

No point in going to bed as I have to be up in half an hour anyway.

rootypig · 19/09/2014 06:20

Why would he?

RJnomore · 19/09/2014 06:20

Thank you for that stat. Quite a resounding result locally too then.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 06:21

Ha ha, I'm a very very definite no TheRealAmandaClarke.

He's not very gracious in defeat is he?
