Agree. There will be no change. Just more of the same.

MorrisZapp · 19/09/2014 07:04

Rita that's just wild hyperbole.

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:04

Fgs rita

I get how you feel, I would be the same if Yes had won.

Your leaders did not make the case that Scotland should be independent
Scotland spoke quite clearly.
No-one else's fault.

cedricsneer · 19/09/2014 07:05

Rootypig, stop goading. You don't represent everyone on the yes side either. I was a latecomer to no and felt very energised by the early yes-rhetoric, but your comments are alienating me. I hope that today people can be a little more reasonable as we try to move forward.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2014 07:05

OK Rita - you're upset, but that isn't a reason to be so inflammatory. No-one has been duped or beaten anyone into submission. The majority didn't want full independence, end of. What we do now and how we move forward is up for much debated, but change is coming and we get to stay within the UK. Seems like not too bad a place to start from from where I'm sitting.

Roseformeplease · 19/09/2014 07:05

How have we been tricked or duped? Give the people some credit. They are not idiots. They have chosen.

Be upset. Be sad. Be knackered. But try to be a bit gracious and respect the democratic will of the voters.

It's a resounding no from across the country. Not big patches in one direction and another.

We should all be proud to be Scottish this morning. We have really seized the opportunity to be involved in our democratic process. The people of Scotland as a whole have spoken. We need to respect that voice now and use the passion which we have seen on both sides to move forward together, as one nation, and ensure that our wonderful, special, unique country continues to grow and flourish in its rightful place at the heart of our union.

sashh · 19/09/2014 07:06

Deux

You have won your bet, even if 100% of the last council vote 'yes' but due process has to be followed.

It's like a race, you don't stop the 100m when the first 3 have finished.

HappyScotProudBrit · 19/09/2014 07:06

beaten into submission? duped?

really?

and here's me thinking your side just got beat fair and square in a democratic vote!

cedricsneer · 19/09/2014 07:06

Rita, stop belittling the intelligence of no voters. This is getting ugly now. Confused

Roseformeplease · 19/09/2014 07:07

What happened to the poster who kept seeing the number 23? Would love some analysis of that!

EarthWindFire · 19/09/2014 07:07

Rita I have not been duped. I chose to vote the way I did, as did everyone else.

It is people within Scotland that spike not Scotland as an individual entity.

It is understandable that you are upset, but no one was duped.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 07:07

Come on dave tell us our powers

Solopower1 · 19/09/2014 07:07

What a relief! We want to work together. Salmond was dignified and sad. Alistair Darling’s speech was very moving. He came across as modest, trustworthy and full of integrity. I think I’m in love. Oh thank goodness. Is all.

SirChenjin · 19/09/2014 07:07

RJ - that brought a wee tear to my eye, that did Grin

Orangeisthenewbanana · 19/09/2014 07:08

LovelyRita I am truly sorry that you feel so disillusioned and upset by the result. But seriously, "struck down by the might of the empire"?? Hmm. That would include the 55% of your countymen and women who made their own personal and informed decision about this vote, but just happened to feel differently to you?

Roseformeplease · 19/09/2014 07:09

My vote didn't count! I am in Highland. We think they might be in the pub in Inverness and will begin counting once they have had a few bacon rolls and a coffee.

grandtheftmanual · 19/09/2014 07:09

Rootypig I fear you are an agent provocateur, probably best ignored.

Lovely, I am sorry you are feeling this way. Please know that the passionate no voters on these threads know exactly how you feel - it's how we have been feeling for the last few weeks, and it is horrible.

I am just so relieved at the outcome, no gloating, no glee, just, as many others have said, a sense of peace and calm.

Thank you all for your company and valuable insight.

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:09

You don't represent everyone on the yes side either.

I'm speaking only for myself. If you look at my comments about AS speech, I don't include myself in the yes camp. Because I didn't have a vote, and I didn't campaign.

You don't like what I have to say - that's ok, for both of us.

WildThong · 19/09/2014 07:10

Great speech by Mr Cameron. Process of change under way as promised

AnnieGetYourTazer14 · 19/09/2014 07:10

Scotland dared speak by clawing a majority of yes and we were a struck down with the full might of the empire.
No you weren't struck down, the majority of people living in Scotland simply voted to stay part of the UK.

EarthWindFire · 19/09/2014 07:11

Come on dave tell us our powers

It won't happen just like that, just like it wouldn't if the vote had been for independence Hmm

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:11

I fear you are an agent provocateur

I'm angry, I care, I disagree, and I'm calling people out for their short sighted dismissal of AS's speech. Why is any of that not best dealt with by either a response, or just don't reply, if you don't wish to. Why does it have to be belittled?
