Completely agree Spiritedwolf. :)

WildThong · 19/09/2014 06:49

Thanks everyone. Can't believe the overwhelming feeling of relief this morning. In the manner of the oscars, I'd like to thank everyone I don't know for making this happen!

SirChenjin · 19/09/2014 06:49

Completely agree Spiritedwolf

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 06:49

Absolutely destroyed. Feel so scared and hopeless.

rootypig · 19/09/2014 06:50

All but one response to AS speech here called it ungracious. Is that the generalising? (genuine question)

I think you would be surprised at how many of us on these threads would've taken devo max. I know I would have.

Well Cameron's huge gamble paid off, didn't it. Because he wouldn't put it on the ballot, and he forced your hand.

The establishment, with all its might, has only just beaten him.

That is simply a fact.

rootypig · 19/09/2014 06:51

Give us a little time rooty it has been a very long night/weeks for us.

I am responding to criticism of AS speech. So I might be the one to say that?

EarthWindFire · 19/09/2014 06:54

Please don't nit pick. Emotions are still running high and there are some who are upset, some who are relieved and some who are very, very tiered.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 06:55

Sitting downstairs actually dreading my son coming down. How do i look him in the eye and tell him he's been denied the only chance he'll ever see of making changes

That his country has been duped?

I'm gutted

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2014 06:55

rooty I found it ungracious because he hardly mentioned that it was a No, that so many people chose to stay with the Union. Instead he focused almost entirely on the Yes vote. I know he was addressing that campaign but I don't feel that it was the best way to assuage any hard feelings.

JohnCusacksWife · 19/09/2014 06:57

I'm delighted with the result and just feeling an overwhelming sense of relief. The huge knot of anxiety I've been carrying around with me has gone. I feel sorry for those on the Yes side who are feeling disappointed but hope we are able to work together without recrimination.

Huge thanks to the core group of posters who have been at the heart of this mammoth group of threads. Your hard work, dedication and huge levels of knowledge have been astounding and is very much appreciated. Thanks ladies!

SirChenjin · 19/09/2014 06:57

You don't tell him that Rita - no-one has been duped. What about telling him that the majority voted against full independence under a democracy, that change is coming and that he will be living through a pivotal time in Scottish and UK history.

Igneococcus · 19/09/2014 06:57

Relieved.
Thanks everybody for all the discussions over the past years.

Annunziata · 19/09/2014 06:58

Duped? There was a vote and the majority won.

WildThong · 19/09/2014 06:59

Don't ever be ashamed to be Scottish. (To those of you saying that)
This process was for all of us living in Scotland so be proud that we all engaged with it and work together to make it better in the future.

sunnyrosegarden · 19/09/2014 06:59

I'm English and have only been to Scotland once, but have been following these threads with interest. I am also relieved - although not looking forward to Cameron's smug face on the news today.

Deux · 19/09/2014 06:59

I'm a Highlander too and I'm baffled that they've not managed to declare yet. Wish they'd hurry up especially as I had a flutter with Ladbrokes.

flippinada · 19/09/2014 07:00

Just relief over here. Nothing else. I'm not surprised yes voters are gutted. I think that's entirely understandable.

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:00

Please don't nit pick

You cannot be serious!

Spiritedwolf · 19/09/2014 07:01

The British Establishment didn't have a vote. Any more than the Scottish Establishment. You are discounting the active choice of 55% of the electorate, presumably whilst simultaneously believing that 45% of the electorate are fantastic, right on people.

It is insulting and ungracious. I know you are gutted. I would have been gutted if the vote had gone the other way.

I have not been duped Hmm . Seriously, all of us should go and get some rest, reflect on the result and figure out how to work together to create the kind of society we want to live in.

Just woken up to the news. Am so pleased, though most here won't be.

Glad there's a clear majority. Gobsmacked with Aberdeen. Really wasn't expecting the map to be so green.

This is a good day for the UK.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 07:02

There is no change. You've been duped.

Scotland dared speak by clawing a majority of yes and we were a struck down with the full might of the empire.

O don't want to live in a country that's been beaten into submission.

Roseformeplease · 19/09/2014 07:03

Alex Salmond's Maths continues to be a bit shit. He rounded 1.539 million to. 1.6.

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:03

The British Establishment didn't have a vote.

Grin

No, I wouldn't call it a vote, as such.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 07:04

The full arsnel at their disposal was used to put us back in our place. And it worked.

More powers would have been on the ballot paper. All we've voted for is no to our independence.
