Welcome to indyref 6

Spidergirl8 asked close to end of last thread:

What impact would independence have on fiscal policy and economic stability
What impact would the ageing population have on the future
Is the predicted future a positive one, based on fact

If the bite goes no, what has actually been achieved? Does that not just put Scotland on the back foot?

Let's try and give not too biased answers please!

I'm with you discoflame. I don't think this will just go away

I read that pubs might stay open till 6 on the night of the 18th/19th - not sure that is a good idea.

I hold to my belief that most people are basically decent. We passed a bunch of Yes campaigners today and were all very friendly. We're all just out there doing what we think is right.

Santana Maybe BT should offer all female No voters a novelty cake tin? Wink. Honestly, I wish I had got involved earlier, I could have aced this months ago.

BardarbungaBardarbing · 06/09/2014 23:16

Disco I'm not looking at hate filled sites. I wouldn't listen to it on the street or in the pub, I'd move on. There are hate-filled people and the internet gives them a platform.

I think good sense will prevail after the vote. We all seem friendly again on here!Wine and Brew all round.

Remember the mosque in York that invited the demonstrators in for tea and a biscuit.

SantanaLopez · 06/09/2014 23:16

I've actually lost the power of speech Wildthong

Holy crap!

OOAOML · 06/09/2014 23:16

If I say I have no idea who David Gandy is do I show myself up as hopefully out of touch?

The topic won't go away but it can be handled without getting personal.

OOAOML · 06/09/2014 23:20

I have an important question - as a No campaigner with a job and two children, how much wine do I need to get me through to the finish line? I think this is probably a very complicated assessment of working hours, campaigning hours, stress and my inability to cope with a hangover. Wink

On a serious note, I'm shaken by the poll. But I'm not giving up, I will be out there again tomorrow knocking on doors and talking to people. It ain't over yet.

SantanaLopez · 06/09/2014 23:20

Ooh I have a Sharky steam thingy

It's great. I DH does the bathroom and most of the kitchen with it too.

barda hopefully most people will refrain from that. We get heated here every now and again, but we also get on pretty well. I have Yes friends, and we get on ok, I think it is mainly twitter and Facebook that are bear pits.

OOAOML · 06/09/2014 23:23

Thanks cordelia. On the white wine just now but put that glass of red on hold I may need it later Smile

SantanaLopez · 06/09/2014 23:23

OOAOML the second poll tonight put No in the lead and obviously has got much less attention. It's not over till it's over!

And you can have my share of wine for the next 2 weeks! Which is pretty big Grin

WildThong · 06/09/2014 23:23

Ha - are we being stereotypical? Maybe BT should offer the Gandy as a sweetener. OOAOML, he is rated as the first male supermodel, properly male too, he described being laughed at in Christian Dior because of being so big. He couldn't get one leg into the teeny androgynous boy-clothes they were trying to punt. Remember the dolce and gabbana light blue ad on the TV, he was the hunk in the tighty whites.

lady I've got a Karcher steam cleaner with loads of attachments for windows, tiles, soft furnishings etc. it is very good. I won it on mumsnet strangely enough.

BardarbungaBardarbing · 06/09/2014 23:23

Wow to David Gandy, Is he prominent in the Better Together campaign? How have I missed this..

squoosh · 06/09/2014 23:24

No Saturday night at the dancin' for Prof Curtice, he'll be busy tap tap tapping away on his keyboard.

BardarbungaBardarbing · 06/09/2014 23:26

Prof Curtice ! I know him - my media consumption is all wrong isn't it!

WildThong · 06/09/2014 23:26

OOAOML also Wine from me. Maybe we should consider a meet up sometime when it's all over ?

It occurs to me that I know far too much about David Gandy Blush

squoosh · 06/09/2014 23:27

Ah but do you know what Prof Curtice looks like when wearing tight pants and reclining on a chaise longue?

OOAOML · 06/09/2014 23:27

Sometimes I wonder if Professor Curtice is the only person in Scotland qualified to comment on polls. If he has any sense he will be charging the BBC per appearance.

I always say to the kids (in my "profound" voice) that you can learn a lot from the interweb and you've proved me right tonight WildThong!
