Welcome to indyref 6

Spidergirl8 asked close to end of last thread:

What impact would independence have on fiscal policy and economic stability
What impact would the ageing population have on the future
Is the predicted future a positive one, based on fact

If the bite goes no, what has actually been achieved? Does that not just put Scotland on the back foot?

Let's try and give not too biased answers please!

No, it gets gently warm , never hot.

Bit like myself.

squoosh · 06/09/2014 22:57

Well duh! Did you not know this is what the whole thing is about?

Maybe that's the real reason Alex has been slimming down, it's so he can squeeze himself into a slinky sequinned number.

AnnieHoo · 06/09/2014 22:58

There can be no negotiations until Scotland has formally left the United Kingdom in 2016 as EU rules state nations can only apply after gaining sovereignty.

I need some Lakeland escapism..

I sold my 3 tier thingy recently and got a tumble dryer. I found I didn't have enough room for it in my flat Wink

Discoflame · 06/09/2014 23:00

Bored and can't sleep and wandered onto a yes Scotland Facebook page. The utter racism has astounded me.

I know this will (hopefully) be a small minority but I still find it terrifying. These people aren't making a decision on facts or even hope but sheer hatred of the English. I'm pretty shocked by it and I am scared of how things will be after the vote for either way! It was like a re run of braveheart!

O and I'm 100% Scottish and 100% a no vote.

OOAOML · 06/09/2014 23:00

I have the heated airer from Lakeland it is brilliant

Is it not quite pricey to run?

Not too bad - but we have no outside drying space, no tumble dryer (nor room for one thanks to tiny crap design kitchen) so it is worth it to keep me sane. I only switch the heat on in deepest winter, but it really helps.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 06/09/2014 23:01

We don't have anything to negotiate with that would allow us the special treatment you seem so sure we will get

So you genuinely think that the EU is going to be happy to kick out all the folk retired from the Costa Bravado, and cause Scotland to kick out all the Polish? You think they have no reason to want access to our resources??

Sadly there are rabid keyboard warriors on both sides. I thought the whole thing was remarkably amicable until I made the mistake of looking @BritNatAbuseBot on Twitter....

SantanaLopez · 06/09/2014 23:03

Right, I'm getting the dryer rack, thanks Grin I'm also mega tempted by the dinosaur cake mould, although a dinosaur could probably bake better than me.

I think you should get the cherry stoner. It can stone 7 cherries simultaneously. The Lakeland catalogue is a tantalising glimpse into a parallel universe. Has anyone checked Lakeland's position on Scottish independence? Wink

WildThong · 06/09/2014 23:06

itsall. Don't perpetuate other peoples nastiness by posting their links

santana wait til you see the hedgehog moulds, so cute!

AAaaargh the Lakeland link has led me on to dinosaur cookie cutters...

resists urge to spend in Lakeland to distract from polls

Sallyingforth · 06/09/2014 23:08

So you genuinely think that the EU is going to be happy to kick out...

Total non sequitur. The EU won't be kicking anyone out.

It will be up to Spain whether to let people stay in the Costas. That will probably depend how the residents intend to pay :)

It will be up to Scotland whether to kick out all the Polish. I understand the policy is to welcome immigrants?

They can manage very well without your resources.

WildThong · 06/09/2014 23:08

OOAOML and the pineapple peeler - all the things you don't know you need then Lakeland invents them.

SantanaLopez · 06/09/2014 23:09

Hedgehogs?! Hedgehogs?! In cake form?! Shock

Life is complete

Apologies if the next BT ad has a woman standing in Lakeland with a heated dryer rack and various cake tins Grin

Discoflame · 06/09/2014 23:09

Wow. Well that's an eye opening twitter account isn't it. From both sides.

So much hatred. I really worry about happens after the vote. If it's a yes, well personally that terrifies me. But if it's a no will everyone just go back to normal? I find that hard to believe. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Sallyingforth · 06/09/2014 23:10

Anyway Itsall I'm out of here for tonight.

Going to have a quick browse in Lakeland to see what I'm missing, then off to bed.

Goodnight all!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 06/09/2014 23:12

Mmm. I'm fancying the hedgehog mould too...

WildThong · 06/09/2014 23:12

Oh, since it's Saturday and we really need light relief - did anyone else happen to see the Times magazine today? If Scotland wrongly votes for independence, we will be saying goodbye to David Gandy

do not open if you dislike men in pants
