Tomato ketchup?

Had lunch at a relatives house today. They gave us bacon sandwiches, but only supplied brown sauce (travesty!). When I politely asked if there was any tomato ketchup, I just got a blank look followed by "well, I suppose we might have some tomato puree in the back of the cupboard".

AIBU to think that bacon sandwiches need tomato ketchup and it's just wrong to not even offer any?

I hate ketchup and brown sauce. So do my children. Therefore, we would choose not to eat it, and consequently do not buy it.

I find it annoying when people are invited round for lunch, BBQs, etc, and then start asking for extra condiments.
eg, "Have you got some cheese for this burger" or "have you got ketchup for this sausage". Or (the best yet: I don't like beer/wine/juice/water (sparkling or still)/ squash or fizzy pop - have you got some bitter lemon).
NO I BLOODY WELL HAVEN'T - if I had, it would have been provided.

If I go to someone's house, I eat (and drink) what I am given.

So yes, you are being completely Unreasonable.

FYI, the bacon was served hot in white buttered bread.

Never with bacon sarnies, but always with scrambled egg on toast.

I like a bacon butty with the butter that has had mushrooms fried in it soaking into the bread, then just the bacon.

YABU. Bacon sandwiches shouldn't be interfered with by adding sauce of any kind, and definitely not butter.
