To block this car in...

I'm at my mum's. she lives on a a fairly narrow hill, you can park on the road but it's best if you park half on the pavement. I'm going camping for the weekend with friends who are coming to pick me up in an hour. I've just popped to the shops for supplies of crisps and wine and some cheeky bugger has parked on my mum's drive.

I've text all my family and no one has any knowledge of this car. Would I be a total arse to just reverse onto the drive right upto their bumper and leave my car there for the weekend? I really don't want to leave my car half on the pavement for a whole weekend. A few of the NDNs have double buggies and there won't be enough room for them to pass. I also don't want to leave my shiny lovely car under the tree on the road cos it will be covered in bird poo and tree sap when I get back.

Mum is also away this weekend too so I can't even leave the keys. Grrrrrr.

It's a mystery. But not as much a mystery as The Great Cuntishly Parked Car Mystery

BramwellBrown · 15/08/2014 22:43

Grin I only know as i looked it up after a campfire with the guides, as a child i thought it was a farmer thing after hearing a farmer on a campsite shouting come boy to his sheep dog sounding like 'Coomb by, coomb by'.

MrsHende · 15/08/2014 22:44

Place marking.

Salmotrutta · 15/08/2014 22:44

This just isn't good enough.

Marking place!

vestandknickers · 15/08/2014 22:52

Maybe we can work out where this is all happening. OP mentioned West Yorkshire, an old people's home and a cottage industry selling shabby chic and cupcakes. Put that together with narrow roads and a location where Kermit has been on tour.....

Pipbin · 15/08/2014 22:56

We are in serious danger of filling up the thread before she gets back.

Wickeddevil · 15/08/2014 22:58

Parking here for an update. I loves parking threads. And I need to know how this ends.....

OooOooTheMonkey · 15/08/2014 22:59

Argh no update! Confused I need to know what happens!

abigamarone · 15/08/2014 23:01

Can't be mithered reading whole thread for all the place marking (what is all that about?).

I came back off holiday a few weeks ago to a car parked right at the front of my terraced house, I'm not one to get arsey over street parking so didn't take much notice. Three days later there's a knock on the door, 3 plain clothes coppers asking if I'd seen who parked it as it was stolen, they milled about for a couple of hours until a tow truck arrived. It was all quite baffling and I'm none the wiser.

RubyGoat · 15/08/2014 23:01

Blatantly place marking.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 15/08/2014 23:03

Ffs the op is away camping... She needs space to fill us in when she's
Back or we will never know !

HarrietdeBagotSoay · 15/08/2014 23:14
Wink
Garcia10 · 15/08/2014 23:21

Looking forward to the update. But why are so many posters 'marking their place'? You do know there is a watch function don't you so you don't need to fill threads up with drivel?!

EBearhug · 15/08/2014 23:22

I know the OP's got wifi at her posh camping place, but did she take the relevant charger and will she have somewhere to plug the charger into, to be able to give us sufficient updates?

Back in the 80s we would if assumed it was dumped by a joy rider.

Dropdeadfred2 · 15/08/2014 23:36

place marking

ClashCityRocker · 15/08/2014 23:42

If you watch the thread, do you get an email every time someone replies?

SoonToBeSix · 15/08/2014 23:48

Thought her sister was going to text updates?

jaynebxl · 15/08/2014 23:51

Wonder if they came for the car yet?

Jbck · 15/08/2014 23:57

My first blatant placemark Grin
