To be completely turned off new bloke

Blossombirdy · 29/07/2014 23:37

Started seeing a very nice bloke. Perfect and romantic in every way... except I don't want to have sex with him.

He has hairy balls which are a complete turn off. And on our last date, no 3 btw, he stank so much of BO I had to turn the air con on.

Aibu ti think I should give him the boot or have a gentle word about scrotal etiquette?

So.... it isn't a youngy'uns thing then.

So, do most of us prefer unfashionable men then? I know my DH doesn't 'do' grooming or personal appearance, so I may be well behind the times. Thankfully!

Lauren83 · 30/07/2014 13:24

My mans image concious and well groomed, with a beard and tattoos

He isn't the 'Towie' type at all, he looks after himself, goes the gym every day and just chooses it as part of his grooming routine

kali110 · 30/07/2014 13:25

I agree that the guy is better off without you.
No way should this poor guy have to get rid of his pubes just to make you happy, imagine if this thread was reversed!!!

Koothrapanties · 30/07/2014 13:25

I'm 23 and only one man I have been with has been shaven. I found it really offputting. It wasn't manly to me and it all just looked wrong.

Blossombirdy · 30/07/2014 13:26

I think neatly trimmed would be adequate. And oral sex with a tidy male partner is more enjoyable. Gone r the days of my youth when I would forgive an errant baw hair stuck between my front teeth. Seriously ladies. Guys need to trim and so do u! Ps im eatly thirties.

OP posts:
YouTheCat · 30/07/2014 13:29

No one needs to trim anything. It is entirely up to the individual and it is attitudes like yours that lead to people doing things they don't want to to please others when really they should be pleasing themselves.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 30/07/2014 13:37

Am i the only one who does not find male pubs get in the way when giving oral? Im rather enthusiastic with it too. They have really never been a problem for me - maybe ive only been with guys with short hair who dont mault much Grin

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 30/07/2014 13:38

*moult

Lauren83 · 30/07/2014 13:39

Blossom I'm completely with you on this

I wouldn't be put of so much by hairy balls but if a man stunk of BO I would, same way if I would expect a man to be put off if the first time we went to bed I stunk!

You can't say its attitudes like this making people do things to please others and what if it was a woman there would be uproar etc, we are talking about a neglect of personal hygiene with BO, I would expect both sexes to take issue with this

disclaimer

I know some people may have medical issues causing them to perspire more before someone points that out

YouTheCat · 30/07/2014 13:41

No I'm talking about the issue of shaving your pubes or not.

I haven't mentioned the BO because there could be all kinds of reasons for it.

QuintessentiallyQS · 30/07/2014 13:42

The only men I have come across with shave balls and "men gardens" are gay. Or at least 80% gay.

OneDreamOnly · 30/07/2014 13:46

Yawn

Sorry OP but you are certainly not the person who us going to tell me if I should wax/trim or whatever. This is MY body. I'm going to do what i want with it.
I could listen to a suggestion from my DH and decide if I'm happy about it or not. But some random person telling me that I need to trim and/or my DH should do so too isn't going to gain any votes here.

But then I don't tend to follow crowds either. I prefer to make my own mind up.

Lauren83 · 30/07/2014 13:49

I asked my DP why he shaves his balls and armpits, he said he sweats a lot at the gym and it makes his eczema worse if he was hair in those areas, he says he used to shave his chest as before me he thought women didn't like hairy chests and his ex used to nag him too, thinking back when he met me he couldn't believe I loved his hairy chest and legs

YouTheCat · 30/07/2014 13:53

But that's the point, Lauren. It's his choice.

Actually when I met my dp for the first time he smelled a bit of BO. But he'd done an early at work and then got on a train (4 hour journey) just to see me. He had a wash and changed out of his work clothes and smelled fine. I'd have been a bit of a shallow cow if I'd dumped him because of a bit of BO. And I'd have missed out on a knowing a fantastic person.

hellsbellsmelons · 30/07/2014 13:55

So they delete the smelly fanny thread
But a smelly hairy bollock thread is ok?
This made me snort!!!
Loving this thread!

My OH shaves his though and I much prefer it.
My ExH shaved his too.
I never asked them to. They just did!
But each to their own!

Thumbwitch · 30/07/2014 13:59

DH says there's a guy at his work who shaves everything apart from his head. Back, scrote, legs, arms - everything. He does completely love himself though and thinks he's something of a ladies' man.

Someone has just linked me to this review for Veet for Men - it's even funnier than the one linked up-thread! Grin

LaChatte · 30/07/2014 13:59

"Yes most guys these days shave."

Bollocks!

MostWicked · 30/07/2014 14:01

Look most guys shave. So do most women
No, they don't. It's still a minority.

Actually clean shaven guy = worse sex life. Proper man = much better sex life.
That statement is equally ridiculous whichever way round you write it.
Shaving doesn't make a man better or worse in bed.
And does a "proper" man have to leave all his hair to grow naturally, including his head and face?

There is nothing wrong with hairy balls, there is nothing wrong with shaved or trimmed balls.
There are only preferences.
I can't be doing with beards or hairy backs, but there are many women who love that.

Lauren83 · 30/07/2014 14:03

You

Good point to be fair, OP I would give them the benefit of the doubt and see if it was an underlying hygiene issue but you are right I guess if mine had smelt of BO the first date I wouldn't of dropped him, he showers 2-3 times a day as it happens, morning, after gym and just before bed

FryOneFatManic · 30/07/2014 14:44

I shaved in advance of a CS a) I'd been asked to and b) I didn't want the "bic experience", otherwise I am normally hairy, I trim bikini line only.

And as for errant hairs in the teeth, well, DP is normally hairy but I can't remember the last time hair got stuck. and these days he'd need a full body wax to get rid of it all...Grin

TonyThePony · 30/07/2014 15:59

Isn't it lovely to think that this hairy handed teen mumsnetter may well have inspired his or her mum to shave their dads sack through this thread.

Your dad will be thanking you tonight OP.

Ah, brings a tear to the eye....

VitoCorleone · 30/07/2014 16:39

Good grief.

How would you even shave balls without cutting them?? Ouch

MorphineDreams · 30/07/2014 16:40

DP once nicked his. Ouch ouch ouch. I've told him I prefer him hairy but he likes being smooth so whatever floats his boat.

Smilesandpiles · 30/07/2014 16:42

Grow up.

Whiskwarrior · 30/07/2014 16:53

Seriously ladies. Guys need to trim and so do u!

And there's the goady crux of this thread.

Ps im eatly thirties

Sure you are.
