Blossombirdy · 29/07/2014 23:37

Started seeing a very nice bloke. Perfect and romantic in every way... except I don't want to have sex with him.

He has hairy balls which are a complete turn off. And on our last date, no 3 btw, he stank so much of BO I had to turn the air con on.

Aibu ti think I should give him the boot or have a gentle word about scrotal etiquette?

OP posts:
PittTheYounger · 30/07/2014 11:08

How thick IS this hair then, that it dulls sensation?!

Koothrapanties · 30/07/2014 11:12

Have you ever seen hair free balls?? They look like Gollum with the flu. Not pretty.

icanmakeyouicecream · 30/07/2014 11:13

Pissing myself @ Kooth

No, most men do not shave these days OP.

elQuintoConyo · 30/07/2014 11:20

God created balls out of some leftover elbow skin he had lying around.

I prefer mine hairy. Nothing like a good whiff of post-coital ball sweat

Teddybeau1988 · 30/07/2014 11:28

I've never seen shaved balls.i didn't know it was a thing.

Could you buy him some aftershave as a hint re the bad body odour.

ICanSeeTheSun · 30/07/2014 11:47

Could always send him this.

LineRunner · 30/07/2014 11:53

Salons do 'sack and crack' waxing. And 'back, sack and crack'.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 30/07/2014 12:06

linerunner i dont really see the relevance. Salons do lots of things but it doesnt make it the norm or common, just means there are some people willing to at least try it.

Sapat · 30/07/2014 12:11

I am sorry, but 3 dates and you have already seen his balls?

MorphineDreams · 30/07/2014 12:14

Oh give over Sapat there's nothing wrong with that.

GatoradeMeBitch · 30/07/2014 12:17

WhyOWhy Then surely it would work just the same the other way around? So a shaved man and a hairy woman would be equally as good. I bet there won't be any 'scientific' studies on that though!

PiperRose · 30/07/2014 12:21

Sapat Really?!?

Thumbwitch · 30/07/2014 12:21

I think that when people are talking on this thread about most women shaving or not, they're referring specifically to their "ladygarden" - most women do shave their legs/armpits, but I think far fewer shave their nethers completely.

OneDreamOnly · 30/07/2014 12:23

A friend of mine is a mw and she says that a lot if not most women under 25~30yo are bare.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot if men are too and really feel for them. Ingrowing hair in that area is painful, hair growing back is either itchy it painful and it can't be that nice when it grows back both for the man And the woman

However, what I am Shock is the fact that not being shaved can be a good enough reason to dump the guy. He has a right to his own body and shouldn't have to 'confirm' if he doesn't want to, nor should it start shaving just to ease the OP if he doesn't want to.
Just as a woman shouldn't start removing hair down there just to please he partner and even if she isn't keen on the idea.
Now for me THAT is a big issue.

minipie · 30/07/2014 12:28

OneDream mightn't it be that some women go bare specifically for birth, but wouldn't usually? I considered having a full on hollywood for birth (normally am fairly au naturel) because I didn't want any hair getting in the way of episiotomies/tears healing etc.

On a practical note - shaving balls must be really difficult, surely, because of their shape and because the skin is so slack. I'd have thought there was severe risk of shaving cuts

Tinkerball · 30/07/2014 12:32

Go out and seek your vacant narcissistic Towie bloke then Op, good luck!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 30/07/2014 12:32

gatorade your missing the point - during the thrusting and grinding movements of sex the hair on a guy is well positioned to add addition stimulation to the clitoris and labia. In a hairless guy this stimulation is lessened. The womans hair wouldnt be rubbing against her clitoris or labia, so is does not change things in this way.

I really hope that descriptions not too explict - i dont know how explict we are allowed to be on here.

onedream and minipie - i think there is an element of women feeling its required for them to be shaven for birth. Im not entirely sure why but i know some people who got a wax specifically in preperation for the birth, who were normally hairy - their reasons ranged from the "midwife might think im dirty/ unpleasant if i dont" to "if you have a c-section they'll attack your lady garden with an evil bic razor which will make it a lot sorer, than if youd just waxed in the first place".

I had a bit of a mini panic over it myself but in the end just got hubby to help me make sure it was neatly trimmed (i couldnt manage past my big pregnancy belly).

Nomama · 30/07/2014 13:01

Blossom must be under, what 25, 30 years old. I have NEVER met a man who shaved his balls and would probably laugh myself silly if I did.

But I understand, from other MN posts, that it might be a youngy 'uns thing!

Bifauxnen · 30/07/2014 13:06

Those who like posting their junk on reddit are generally trimmed. I'm sorry that I know this, please don't think less of me

kali110 · 30/07/2014 13:10

Erm all guy iv dated have been under 30 and have had hairy balls....

Lauren83 · 30/07/2014 13:10

My shaven balls DP is 37

machair · 30/07/2014 13:13

Hair free sounds weird and creepy, as if trying to look like a boy.

YouTheCat · 30/07/2014 13:14

The bloke I knew who did wasn't that young. He was 40ish. He did it because he loved himself and thought he was some kind of sex god... he wasn't.
