I tend to feel sympathy for people who are having to deal with tantruming children but each to their own.

Yep, if one of mine throws a tantrum they get taken inside.

My autistic child had a meltdown the other day. Utterly mortifying. Short of manhandling him indoors, there isn't much i can do. I did eventually get him inside and had the bruises on my legs to show for it.

All children tantrum though, regardless. I feel sorry for parents dealing with tantrums in a public place cos we've all been there.

Really? So public tantrums are mortifying but now parents are being judged in their own gardens too? Do you remember the toddler years or have you blanked them from your memory as they were so bloody awful?

I can sympathise with you Op! My DD is no angel and I know kids do tend to be noisy, but I've been treated to almost constant ear-splitting full-volume shrieks from the neighbours kids all day long (when one can't have their own way of the other one has a wanted toy) and I've about had enough of it - headache!

Yet we have threads on here saying teens music/barbecues/ lawn mowers etc are intrusive and keeping dc awake?

Totally agree with you Gretchen. I haven't forgotten about the toddler tantrums but I did what I could to minimise the annoyance to other people.
