But the a lot of the current English team aren't in the pay league of some of the foreign players.
Their talents are essentially bollocks, I mean, it's just football. But they get super taxed on their wages. They buy a lot of shit. And houses. There's an entire economy that surrounds the football league that would flop if people didn't watch it. And people want to watch the best.

I see it akin to not dropping bankers bonuses because we don't want them to fuck off to wherever else they might go...(not v good analogy haha)

I'm not sure actual happiness is allowed here just yet, certainly wouldn't have been very empathetic to family atmosphere last night. But when it blows over, and tbf to dh it is doing already, I shall still enjoy the World Cup - mainly the Brazilian vibe and a bit of chat from Gary Lineker, just as much as before.
