to wish children at school didn't bring sweets in for the whole class on the birthday

Dn seams to always be coming home with sweets, I just think it should be up to the parents to decide on these things, I would be livid. Should the school ban this?

If we're going down the deletions route, perchance I should bother to report the personal attacks on me, and on the op.

Yes,Maryz actually its not the debate on the occasional sweet that has got me upset.

Its attacks on my parenting, my adequecy, and what I must have done to cause the problems my dd has.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2014 20:48

No one has called you vile or told you to fuck off.

saying they think you have issues or questioning your parenting style or disagreeing with you and defending their own position against your increasingly aggressive posts is not a personal attack

"you can fuck off you nasty piece of work" is a personal attack (my first one in over eight years )

"Fuck off Dinosaur" is a personal attack

"Dinosaur is being an offensive twat (imo).
I told her to fuck off" is a personal attack

"Deletions imminent Grin" is just being goady.

insanityscatching · 04/06/2014 20:49

Ds hates sweets, chocolates and medicine but he will chomp on grass, soil and blu tac and enjoy it Hmm He can swallow tablets now thank goodness but it was a nightmare when he was small with medicine which if you got it in after a fight he had the ability to vomit to order to get rid of it.

ThatBloodyWoman · 04/06/2014 20:51

Well, I'm sure you've reported them Lacks.

Dinosaurporn · 04/06/2014 20:53

Actually it's your perception that people are attacking you, simply because they find your reasoning ridiculous.

IonaMumsnet · 04/06/2014 20:54

Crivens! I've stepped into a mass sugar high. Before any more insults are hurled and I have to do a number on this thread with my pinking shears, can we all just have a quick look at the Talk Guidelines with respect to Personal Attacks. Thanking you.
hurls surreptitious Opal Fruit. Withdraws

ThatBloodyWoman · 04/06/2014 20:56

But I've not started my report list yet Sad

LackaDAISYcal · 04/06/2014 20:57

I have but I don't think they should be deleted from the thread for reasons given by dinosaur and because I reckon it's helpful for others to see in what context they were made. I have no issue with the one against me as it shows your true colours.

It would be nice if you could acknowledge that I didn't call your DD names though. I clearly did not so your attack on me was misdirected as well as vile.

ThatBloodyWoman · 04/06/2014 21:06

Looking back I0again I read it as my child being more than a little bit entitled Lacks so it seems the lioness roared too soon in defence of her cub on that particular point.

I can deal with being called entitled though I don't agree, but I rose to what I thought was an attack on my child, so apologies for that one Flowers

Grin Maryz

brt100 · 04/06/2014 21:12

Am I the only person inwardly smiling at a vision of mothers thumping each other with handbags at the school gate while their children swipe bags of sweets and run off happily into the sunset?

More like waddle off into the sunset

AW!! You GUUUYYYZZ! That's the spirit, TBW. cracks out the Curly Wurlies (wurlys? wurleys?... I'm overthinking this now)

Gileswithachainsaw · 04/06/2014 21:14

:o

maryz

I'll take a curly wurly

insanityscatching · 04/06/2014 21:14

The thing is though Maryz not sure there are that many parents who have such strong feelings about sweets for it to happen very often. Certainly through five children going through school since 1991 in God knows how many schools I've never met anyone who has objected to the odd birthday treat

ThatBloodyWoman · 04/06/2014 21:15

Do you realise quite how much they stick to your teeth Iona ?

Grin
Sirzy · 04/06/2014 21:16

I don't care how its spelt, I will have any going spare!

ThatBloodyWoman · 04/06/2014 21:17

See I'm not the only one in my circle of friends insanity.

I have heard more than one rant on the issue, not initiated by me, nor with their knowledge of my pov!

IonaMumsnet · 04/06/2014 21:19
