It is over 100 years since a national election has been won by a party other than the Conservatives and Labour.

What's more the UK Independence Party did it by winning seats not just in every region of England but in Wales and Scotland too!

UKIP opinions are the majority - FACT!

Thought that would make the bleeding heart liberals weep!

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/05/2014 14:43
Hmm
squoosh · 27/05/2014 14:49

My heart doesn't bleed for anyone. I just don't like political loons.

wigornian · 27/05/2014 14:50

"Anti-Labour BBC"? I've heard it all now! Hmm

OxfordBags · 27/05/2014 14:54

Tiggy - your definition (you are correct in political terms) STILL doesn't make UKIP the majority opinion or vote.

wigornian, what are the bleeding heart liberals (I'm one of them) meant to be weeping about? That you're not caucasian? That you're not caucasian and vote Tory? What? The only thing making me weep - with laughter - is the immature way you think what you're writing is in any way shocking or controversial.

Also, a quick heads-up: accusing people of being caring, ie 'bleeding heart', isn't actually an insult to decent people. "Oh, the shame of being capable of empathy and desirous of equality for all!"... Yeah, not really a thing, is it?

gordyslovesheep · 27/05/2014 14:55

wow Wig where you trying to set a new goady high?

I've read your post several times but it really doesn't say anything

AutumnStar · 27/05/2014 14:55

Yes, Toys. There's room for all our fat arses and bleeding hearts in my cupboard.

AutumnStar · 27/05/2014 14:59

wig is being 'controversial', gordy. Trying to cut through the lefty crap with some real common sense talking.

I didn't think anyone still used the phrase 'bleeding heart liberal' in a serious sense.

somedizzywhore1804 · 27/05/2014 15:02

It's not even worth frothing at the OP who is clearly a moron. Your views are racist and misoginistic and not the viewpoint of the majority by a long stretch. Don't tar us all with your brush.

gordyslovesheep · 27/05/2014 15:03

Grin yes she was so terribly shocking and radical - I was utterly bored shaken and awed by her post Grin

BalloonSlayer · 27/05/2014 15:04

European elections have no real importance or significance when it comes to the general election. UKIP will be lucky if they get one or two seats.

Nigel Farage may strut and crow - and I don't blame him - but no one takes him seriously. Have you noticed how you never see a photo of him in the papers with his mouth closed? Even the newspapers, who are relishing seeing Clegg and Cameron getting their bottoms spanked (metaphorically) are unwilling to present him as anything other than a buffoon.

Tiggy, actually, in politics, the word 'majority' on its own still means over 50%. Watch political reporting - they will use 'majority' to refer to number of seats, not number of votes, because it is possible to get over 50% of seats.

The word you are looking for is 'plurality', or possibly 'relative majority'. If 'majority' is unqualified, it means, well, majority.

squoosh · 27/05/2014 15:08

Can the cupboard please have a netflix account?

AutumnStar · 27/05/2014 15:14

Yep, the cupboard is going to be great.

Aspiringhuman · 27/05/2014 15:27

My arse isn't fat and I've voted in every election I could since my 18th birthday. I was in fact very annoyed that a General election was called a month before my 18th meaning I couldn't vote in it.

I'm a bit claustrophobic - can I buy an adjoining cupboard and knock through? Three of my grandparents are local - will that be enough to get planning permission?

badtime · 27/05/2014 15:50

Labour did indeed have a convincing majority, but of seats, not votes.

It was the spectacularly erroneous statement in the OP that it was a 'FACT!' that 'UKIP opinions are the majority' that brought this up - it was a ridiculous conclusion to draw, regardless of the definitions used.

Waltermittythesequel · 27/05/2014 15:53

It would not be classed as racism in any other country

Seriously? I mean everything you wrote is bullshit but this? Seriously?

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 15:54

Ed Milliband has just firmly planted his head back in the sand. I hope that was just a holding statement, not the fully thought-through reaction.

dawndonnaagain · 27/05/2014 16:00

I'm not above bitching or swearing. I can construct a grammatical sentence, too.
