It is over 100 years since a national election has been won by a party other than the Conservatives and Labour.

What's more the UK Independence Party did it by winning seats not just in every region of England but in Wales and Scotland too!

UKIP opinions are the majority - FACT!

OP posts:
Rabbitcar · 27/05/2014 18:43

Haven't commented so far but OP you are racist, as you refer to the colour of people's skin. You dislike the fact that your son was one of the only non-white children in the class, not one of the only non-uk children (which is not great either btw) which is very telling. So what do you think we should do with all the non-white second and third generation children here?

LtEve love your last comment! Other great comments too from others.

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/05/2014 18:43

ethnical

Grin Hmm Grin

You've done an exemplary job of demonstrating all that is with UKIP and the supporters.

Good work OP!

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/05/2014 18:43

that is wrong*.

I'm just here demonstrating why I shouldn't be allowed a touch screen phone.

Pimpf · 27/05/2014 18:46

I think it's terrifying that there are so many idiots out there who truly believe that all our problems are down to immigration.

I still don't understand why the media have given ukip so much airtime.

How on earth can anyone choose to be part of a group of people where members have said:
Gay marriage is to blame for the storms
Pregnancy women should be forced to have abortions if the foetus has Down's syndrome
There can be no rape within a marriage
That children in east London schools can't speak English
Foreign aid should not be sent to bongo bongo land
Referred to women at an event as sluts

Need I go on.

They are rascist, sexist, homophobic.

Pimpf · 27/05/2014 18:48

Really op, really? You think ukip aren't rascist. I'm sure that we can all find quotes from ukip members to disprove that one very quickly

Pimpf · 27/05/2014 18:49

Ann, why can't I spell today!!! Racist!

Pimpf · 27/05/2014 18:49

Arrrr - not Ann. Bloody autocorrect!

Whiskwarrior · 27/05/2014 18:53

At mt primary school I was one of only 2 white children in my year group. This was 30 years ago in Birmingham. I grew up in an area heavily populated by Muslim families. During Eid there would generally be about 10 children in school for 2/3 days.

Weirdly enough I was never held back by there being so many Muslim children in my class and neither were any of my siblings. There were no TAs as standard then and no one seemed to spend any time teaching English to any of the children.

My own children have attended extremely mixed schools and had children with little or no English in their class. At no point has anyone been appointed to teach these children English and my children have not had their learning hindered. What tends to happen is the children with no English are paired up with another child and they learn (extremely quickly too!) like that.

My own SIL is Lithuanian. Bizarrely she speaks her own language, German AND English and worked two jobs when she first came here to live. Her sister now works two jobs and also speaks three languages. What a pair of cows, eh? How dare they make a point of learning English before they even moved here and work in shitty jobs that other people wouldn't touch while paying taxes into our coffers! Deport them back, I say!

BuggersMuddle · 27/05/2014 19:01

Just read through this and am Shock at the OP's posts.

If you came out some of those comments in many a workplace you would be suspended and rightly so. You do not have the right to tell someone who was born in England to English parents that they are not English just because they are non-white FFS.

So by logical progression, should non-whites only represent 'Britain' in sport, because they can't be properly English? 'You can play in the England football team lads, but never forget you're not English' Hmm I'm afraid your argument as well as being racist, parted way with logic fairly early on.

OxfordBags · 27/05/2014 19:19

Fuck, I might as well gas myself now. I am British, born in England, so presumably English by the OP's standards, but WAIT! What is this, lingering in my family tree? A Jewish great-grandparent? A Dutch great-grandparent? A French great-great-grandparent? Several hundred years back, A BLACK MAN (presumably from somewhere on the Bongo Bongo Peninsula)?!?!?!

And yet, I am white. Ridiculously pale, in fact. I am so confused! OP, can you clarify for me if I am English or not? I'm white, but I have ancestry from abroad, and a bit of non-white at that. Where do I fit in your Ukipper Brave New World?!

Pssst, everyone else, can I come in the cupboard whilst I wait? I've got loads of fine, English snacks: crisps... Oh, no, wait, potatoes aren't indigenous. Okay, let's heat up this pizza... Fuck! It's from Italy. Oh well, this orange juice can't hur... BOLLOCKS.

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 19:28

You mean you don't snack on turnips and mead Oxford? Shock

I'm hereby replacing the cricket test with the 'turnip and mead' test, that'll clarify a few things Wink

cardibach · 27/05/2014 19:46

I like mead! Unfortunately at the moment I am drinking French wine. Damn. With chilli. Fuck. On my way to the cupboard of asylum.

dawndonnaagain · 27/05/2014 19:47

My Grandmother arrived here from Gibraltar (British) in 1934. My brother is a trained cricket umpire. We pass that test, but I don't like turnips, I'm fucked! Grin

Aspiringhuman · 27/05/2014 19:51

fide you can't have mead either the earliest known mead like substance was Chinese.

mrstigs · 27/05/2014 20:00

I'm white British, my husband is, my kids are, both our families are as far back as far as we can tell, I live in a very predominantly white area of a major city and nearly all my friends are wb too. I certainly pass your bizarre 'English test'. I still wouldnt touch ukip with someone else's shitty stick. This isn't about colour, or heritage or culture, this is about the people that live on this little island deciding who is best to represent the people on this little island. Ukip doesn't represent me or my ideals and I'm sad that it does for some people. So in my eyes yabu.

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 20:01

FFS what can I have? Where did small beer originate? Isn't it just pissy beer anyway? We need something far back enough to at least exclude those Huguenot bastards. All the good stuff is forrin isn't it?

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2014 20:06

Ah, yes, I come from Scandinavia, yet am only half Scandinavian, the other half is Mediterranean, and I was born in Central Europe. Still hold Scandi EU passport and considering applying for citizenship in the Mediterranean country (am eligible). Dh is half English, half from central Europe with a jewish heritage, and born in England.DS is a right jumble, born in Scotland. Both DH and DS are British citizens. DS and DH are also both eligible for dual citizenships in different countries (DS unlikely to take it up while my country still has compulsory national service for men). It's another tricky case with, gasp!, jews and refugees, in the mix.

I'm loving the cupboard, although I am feeling rather sick after comfort eating way too much of the self-replenishing chocolate stash.

goshhhhhh · 27/05/2014 20:08

Shall I pack my bags now...Irish Catholic & huguenot. Off to make myself a nice English cup of tea....doh!

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2014 20:08

Oh god!

squoosh · 27/05/2014 20:10

I think rich tea bisuits are the true English food.

FidelineandFumblin · 27/05/2014 20:21

I think you might be right squoosh Grin

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2014 20:23

Oh, forgot, we are all pale white with dark blonde (Ds) and medium brown hair (DH and me. But we all have lovely long dark eyelashes

Anybody remember the Tv documentary from a few years back about something like "How English are you". Turned out that a lot of the people who said that they were definitely English for generations back (one said she was a Saxon and was still mourning for king Harold) were in fact genetically from all over the world. One lady was told that her genetic profile was basically Turkish. The scientists faced a lot of denial, I can tell you..

WicketWoo · 27/05/2014 20:24

I think the result may actually go against UKIP in the long term. I didn't vote and am appalled by the strength of the turnout for them. I most certainly will be voting in future and certainly not for UKIP.

(Didn't real whole thread so apologies if this has been said previously)

dawndonnaagain · 27/05/2014 20:30

ToysRLuv There are an awful lot of people throughout Europe related to Ghengis Khan!

ToysRLuv · 27/05/2014 20:32

Ah, the Channel 4 docu was called "100% English" and even has a wikipedia entry of its own..
